Raytown Garden Club Celebrating 75 years of beauty in the garden. Come join us! We meet at 10:00 am on the first Tuesdays Feb. and the National Garden Club, Inc. since March 7, 1950.

Tour of Garden Club member Cerise's yard today; Cerise grows a lot of peonies, day lilies, hostas, and is know for her painted garden posts she paints. Peonies were done, lilies just coming, beautiful hosta garden out front her house. (Nancy)

Garden Club tour to Sow Wild Natives today. We had 21 meet for a very informative and interesting tour of this hometown business that is beautiful and wonderful selection of native plants. This is on south Noland Rd, south of 40 Hwy, just south of Farrand Farms address; 6201 Noland Rd., KC. They will help you learn how beneficial and important native plants are and how to grow them. Included are a couple other tours pictures they are helping promote. (Nancy)

June meeting today was busy; special program on Peonies, was going to be on Day Lilies. Butterfly class on the "Skipper." Little Show with members flowers from their gardens plus Display; "Here Comes the Bride," which all got Blue Ribbons. Our booth at Rice Tremonti was successful Saturday, Garden Tours, Sow Wild Native tour, Garden Post workshop, community gardening projects, signing up for Sanctuaries, and much more planned and discussed. Club booth at Rice Tremonti Museum BBQ and Sale. Through a little rain, with great support from members, we had a successful, and good time selling plants, crafts, sharing about birds, butterflies, & hummingbirds, giving kids stickers, sharing about our club, and listening to music today. Thank you to all who helped and gave support, we made some money and have some potential visitors to our

Blue Ridge Presbyterian Church; 6429 Blue Ridge BLVD, Raytown

Program; "Growing Low-Maintenance, Disease Resistant Day Lilies" by Ron Topping, Day Lily Society President

Bird Study; "Year of the Butterfly;" the Skipper by Mary Smead

Little Show; Design "Here Comes the Bride" by Nancy Huffman, all others bring Horticulture specimens that are perennial and annual and/or a Dish Garden.

Bring donations for REAP, books for our 2 Little Libraries, and Best Choice labels.

Members have 2 days of Garden Tours, a Painted Garden Post workshop, and work day at Cave Spring Int. Center coming up this month.

If you see this in time; we will be at Rice-Tremonti for a craft and BBQ event on Sat., May 3-, 9-5pm. We are selling plants and will share about our club.

We love to have visitors and we will assist any who would like to become members.
