This is the official page for the Ararat Shrine Amateur Radio Club under the call sign WAØNQA, located in Kansas City, MO. The Ararat Amateur Radio Shrine Club (WAØNQA) is made up of Shriners in the Kansas City area who are licensed amateur radio operators dedicated to using our communication skills, via ham radio, to assist Ararat Shrine and the Shriners Hospitals for Children in their

mission. Our motto is "We Talk so They can Walk".

We live by that motto by providing and assisting the Shrine with special event communications. We do this by providing our golf cart equipped with a PA, 2 meter and private Shrine business band radios for communications which saves a lot of steps. We also have a mobile 2M tower the we can setup at events to host "Talk Ins". We raise funds through our annual Ham Radio Swap meet or HAMBASH each year at the Ararat Shrine Temple the third Saturday of every April. (www.hambash.com).

Additionally, we provide a repeater on 2 meters (145.130 no tone) and 440 mhz (443.775 tone 110.9), which are utilized by our club and other organizations for marathons, nets, and especially the local weekly SATERN Salvation Army net.
