Southeastern Wind Coalition The Southeastern Wind Coalition works to advance the land-based and offshore wind industry in the Southeast.

SEWC is a 501(c)(3) that works to advance the land-based and offshore wind industry in ways that result in net economic benefits to industry, utilities, and residents in the Southeast. We focus on supply chain growth, economic development, job growth, and wind energy development in the region with solutions that are beneficial to industry, beneficial to utilities, and result in net economic benefits to citizens and ratepayers. The Coalition takes an objective, transparent, data-driven, and economically focused approach to advance the industry and inform policy discussions while working closely with utilities via a Utility Advisory Group (UAG) to find mutually beneficial solutions.

Our Senior Program Manager Madelyn Smith joined Rep. Joseph Orgeron, James Martin of Gulf Wind Technology, and moderator Will Baldwin on the "Offshore Wind at a Crossroads" panel at the Tulane Future of Energy Forum.

The takeaway: federal policy is uncertain, but Louisiana's case for offshore wind hasn't changed. Louisiana-built vessels are already working on East Coast projects, 450+ Louisiana businesses are ready to supply the industry, and the state's ports and offshore workforce are exactly what it needs.

With coordination, ready ports, and smart incentives, Louisiana can lead when the next wave of development comes. Thanks to Tulane for hosting this important conversation!

In August, Louisiana leaders joined SEWC and the Center for Planning Excellence - CPEX in Virginia Beach for a set of wind‑energy tours.

Over three days, the delegation visited offshore and port facilities and met with regional experts to identify what opportunities Louisiana can advance in the next two to four years.

A new study from National Grid finds that expanding transmission in the Southeast returns up to $1.84 in benefits for every $1 invested, with up to $4.1B in modeled benefits for the region.

We're hiring! SEWC is looking for a Program Manager based in Arkansas to lead our work advancing wind energy in the state.

In this role, you'll build relationships with lawmakers, utilities, economic developers, rural communities, and industry; plan educational events; track legislation and regulatory dockets affecting wind energy development; and represent SEWC as a trusted voice on wind energy's benefits.

📍 Must be located in Arkansas (remote work with up to 25% travel)
