South Side of Looking Glass trail work continues! With support from The Pisgah Conservancy , FoxMountainGuides , and WCU students, our C4 Trail Team has been able to lead several needed work projects on the Slick Rock Falls Trail leading to the much celebrated climbs of the South Side of Looking Glass Rock. Stay tuned as we ramp up all of our National Forest work in the coming year(s)! Our multi year sponsors like Trango Climbing help us keep our staff and volunteers serving these great areas. The Cultivate Mosaic Scholarship Fund helps break down barriers to participation and leadership in the Western North Carolina climbing community, and Q2 applications are open now.

This quarter, scholarship opportunities include:

✨ Annual Cultivate Climbing memberships for individuals facing financial or systemic barriers to access

✨ Training and mentorship opportunities for aspiring climbing guides looking to build skills, pursue certifications, and grow as leaders in the outdoor climbing community

Two board seats are open at the CCC.

Community Engagement Coordinator: If you love connecting people to climbing access and want to help strengthen programs that serve climbers across the Carolinas, we want to hear from you.

Treasurer: Help keep the CCC’s finances in good shape and make sure we’re stewarding our resources well.

Both are volunteer positions. Applications close June 15.

This Saturday was the epic kickoff to Trail Daze of Summer 2026! 17 volunteers came out for a big day at Laurel K**b. The group cleared off the entire walk off path all the way down to the cliff. 💪🏾

The hard work was followed by some well-deserved basking in big, beautiful Panthertown, where the group spotted some rare orchids.

Black Diamond and On the Road and Off were there with giveaways and great vibes. Couldn’t have asked for a stronger start to Trail Daze.

Trail Daze of Summer is just getting started. Attend any three trail days this summer and be entered to win epic prizes on August 29th at the End of Daze Party in downtown Boone.

Chimney Rock State Park will be hosting a National Trails Day volunteer event at the Rumbling Bald Climbing access on June 6th from 10am-12pm. Work will focus on improving trail conditions, water mitigation, and trimming vegetation. Celebrate National Trails Day with us on Saturday, June 6! Plan a visit to Chimney Rock at Chimney Rock State Park to take part in special guided hikes, animal programs, and more from 10 AM - 3 PM. Afterwards, head to the Village to unwind as you stroll through shops, enjoy a yummy meal or dessert!

The final Trail Daze of Summer 2026 event brings us to The K**b Boulders & Nature Preserve, a legendary Boone boulderfield that was almost a housing development. Thanks to Blue Ridge Conservancy, it’s now conserved land! And we get a sneak peek on August 29th!

Join the CCC, BRC, On the Road and Off and Black Diamond for trail work, community climbing, and celebration.

Registration for this event is REQUIRED and capped at 30.

After the trail day, head to the End of Daze Party in downtown Boone (location TBA) for on-site giveaways from Black Diamond at the End of Daze Party Prize Drawing.
