💥 Apply to present at the ATHENA in STEM 2nd Annual Girls Conference.

This one day experience is designed for high school girls in grades 9 through 12 and focuses on helping young women explore opportunities in STEM, Leadership and Wellness through real conversations and inspiration from women who are leading in their fields.

We are currently seeking dynamic presenters in:

👉 Leadership and professional growth
👉 Wellness, confidence, and resilience

Whether you are an engineer, scientist, founder, healthcare professional, technologist, researcher, educator, or executive leader, your story and insights can make a lasting impact on the next generation.

What does the POWER of US look like in action?

🎉 Well today it was with part of Team ATHENA in STEM linving out the ATHENA principle of “Celebrate”! We had food, fun, and fellowship.

💪 We worked hard with our students this school year so we took time to pause and enjoy as staff, volunteers, and school staff.

👀 Stay tuned for the 2026-2027 school year filled with more action, engagement, learning, and yes fun!💜

A bittersweet moment for ATHENA of the Triangle as we hosted our ATHENA in STEM intern transition meeting.

After an incredible year of leadership, growth, and impact, Ogo officially passed the torch to our 2026–2027 interns: Egypt, Kennadi, and Jaiden.

We are so excited to see what’s ahead for Ogo in her next chapter and are equally excited to welcome this new group of emerging leaders into the ATHENA in STEM program.

Programs like ATHENA in STEM continue to remind us of the power of mentorship, leadership development, and creating opportunities for young women to grow with confidence and purpose.

We look forward to another inspiring school year alongside our AIS leaders and can’t wait to see the impact this next generation will make.

On Friday, our ATHENA in STEM program wrapped another amazing year and we celebrated together at Lenovo! 🎉 We celebrated our incredible students from Wake Young Women's Leadership Academy, our incredible volunteers, and partners and it did not disappoint.👏👏👏

Today, our ATHENA Enlightened Leaders didn’t know what was about to happen. We had kept something special quiet. Today's session attendee’s had the honor of meeting and listening to the woman who started it all, Martha Mertz, the founder of ATHENA International.🎉

Martha shared the story of how ATHENA began. The why behind it. The belief that leadership is not just about achievement, but about impact.

And without forcing it, the conversation led us exactly where it needed to go, to one of ATHENA’s core principles: Give Back.

There was something powerful about watching today's session and seeing our AEL participants connect and soak up the wisdom Martha shared. It was a reminder that the true measure of leadership isn’t just what you accomplish. It’s what you give back.
