75 students. $7,500 in back-to-school support. 💜

Today, ATHENA of the Triangle had the opportunity to make a direct impact for 75 local students, helping them get the supplies, clothing, and essentials they need to head into a new school year feeling prepared and confident.

We’re grateful to Love Is A Parable, Target, and HandsOn Northwest North Carolina for helping make this possible.

This is what Giving Back looks like: coming together, meeting a need, and making a meaningful difference in our community.

Every leader's journey starts somewhere, and we are grateful for being a part of Teena Aytch Burwell’s. Which is a reminder that growth happens one step at a time.💜

Teena first became involved as a volunteer back in 2021, eager to give back and make a difference. What began as lending a helping hand quickly grew into something much bigger. Over the years, she embraced new opportunities, built meaningful relationships, supported our programs, mentored others, and continuously found ways to contribute to our mission.

Her willingness to step up, learn, and serve made a lasting impact, not only on our organization, but on the people around her.
Today, Teena serves as a member of the ATHENA of the Triangle’s Board of Directors, bringing years of firsthand experience, dedication, and leadership to help shape the future of our organization.

“I wish I knew earlier on in life, my future potential. Out of Engineering school, I had a great 8 yr career at IBM in marketing and sales. Then stayed home as a mom for 14 yrs, volunteering constantly, and always doing something on the side (small business consultant, karate, scouting, part-time jobs…). But when it was time to return to work, I didn’t know where to start. I became a Medicare specialist in 2009 (which I keep current on), and only when “life happened” and I was desperate, did I throw my resume out there and somehow Edward Jones found me. The rest is history.” - Adair Salgado
