Raleigh Drum Circle

Raleigh Drum Circle RDC is a community in rhythm that is dedicated to using the universal language of percussive music, dance & movement for creative self-expression. Free.

We encourage cultural awareness, embrace diversity, & promote harmony through rhythm. No experience needed. Some regular Triangle events:
• Drumming for the Hoop Jam, Weds 7* - 8:30pm at Pullen Park, 520 Ashe Ave, Raleigh (April thru October). Some chairs & instruments to share are provided, but bring your own if you have them. Free.
• Winter Hoop Jam, Weds 7* - 8:30pm at Method Road Park, Pioneer

s Building, 514 Method Road, Raleigh (Nov-Mar). Chairs & instruments to share are provided. As always RDC regulars, help is gladly accepted and we will look to you to step-in and lead as needed. *Set up is 6:45pm, come help if you can.

Jamrock Reggae in Cary Friday night! Free!

A Page-Walker favorite, Jamrock returns to fill the air with authentic reggae rhythms. Rock out with "yard style" reggae, including lovers rock, oldies, dancehall, and roots music. Celebrate the band's Jamaican influence and origins. Enjoy dinner from Virgil's Jamaican food truck.

Friday (6/5) - First Friday drumming at Dix Park, 6:30-8pm. This the first in a series of First Friday world percussion jams at Dix park! Come jam with One Tribe at the Stone Houses Visitor Center. Seating provided. Use our drums and other hand percussion or bring your own! This event is free, but registration is requested. Saturday (6/6) - Neuse River Flute Circle, 2pm. We’ll meet at our house (if you need the address, let us know). This month, will feature a flutemaker and a recording artist. Then do some facilitated playing activities, group jamming, and open mic. As always, if you have a song to share, whether it’s a traditional tune, an improv piece, or a jam with you and a few friends, we look forward to hearing it. If you just want to hang out and listen, that’s cool too.

SAVE THE DATE (6/27) - Cary Passport Express Series, 9am-1pm. West African drumming students... Robin Leftwich of Happy Beat Drumming, LLC will teach class and take a deep dive into a rhythm, from all the parts, including ballet and traditional duns, variations on duns, and djembe solo techniques.
