NC Race Series

North Carolina premiere grand prix running series includes 15 races throughout the Triangle area and beyond.

Though racing is at its core, The Second Empire Grand-Prix Series is about much more than running. Each event has a strong charitable component and supports numerous local organizations, from the Special Olympics NC to the Raleigh Police Memorial Foundation to the Tammy Lynn Center for Developmental Disabilities.

Kick-off to Summertime! Celebrate the kids being out of school with the Run Wake Forest Run 5K and fun run on Saturday, June 25 at 7:30 AM! ☀️🍉

With support from the Chick-fil-A Leader Academy, we’re able to bring you this fun family event! This year’s Run Wake Forest Run beneficiaries are the Wake Forest Area Chamber Foundation and Wakefield Schools Foundation. Two amazing organizations that are dedicated to enriching educational opportunities for our future leaders within the local Wake Forest and Wakefield communities!

The 5k course runs entirely on the streets of Wake Forest downtown and neighborhoods. There will be a water station around the halfway point. All registered runners will receive official times and are eligible for awards. The event is stroller-friendly and pet-friendly (pets on leashes), bring everyone - we don't want anyone in the family to be left behind!

Trophy Brewing and Runologie partner up on Run for Love 5K every year! 🌈 The vibe is strong, the Dix Park views are the best, and the post race parties are unmatched! Most importantly, we raise a lot of money for the LGBTQ Center, Healing Transitions, and Dix Park! Join us if you can! We promise it will be worth it! 🏳️‍🌈😄

The Run for Love 5k will take place on June 11th @ 9 AM! There will be a FREE kid's 400 meter fun run at 8:45 AM (for kids of all ages)! All who participate in the Run for Love 5k will receive at Run for Love 5k medal and a beer from Trophy Brewing Co! Top 3 overall will win cash prizes of $100, $75, and $50! Age group award winners will receive gift cards from Runologie and Overall Masters and Grand Masters will receive growlers of beer from Trophy! 🥇🍻

The NCRC Classic Half-Marathon & 10K Races are now in their 25rd year and considered to be two of the Triangle area’s premier distance races! The NCRC Classic Half-Marathon and 10k will take place on May, 15 2022! Registration is still open! https://ncraceseries.com/event/ncrc-classic-half-marathon-10k/register/

Both the 10K and half-marathon have USATF certified “out-and-back” courses that start on paved road, transition through crushed-gravel and the hard-packed bridle trails of Umstead State Park, and finish on pavement.

The 9th Annual Catching Fireflies 5k Run/Walk will be held Friday, May 20th at 8:15 pm!

The 5k course will be lined with luminaries and runners will wear a glow stick or glow necklace! The 5k course runs entirely on the streets of Wakefield. There will be a water station around the halfway point. All registered runners will receive official times and are eligible for awards.

You can honor a friend or family member who has battled cancer by purchasing a luminary with their name on it - to help light the way for others. A portion of the proceeds and 100% of the luminary purchase price goes directly to the Cancer Shucks Foundation.

The sixth annual Glenaire 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run this past Saturday was a huge success! Big thank you to the Glenaire Retirement Community, our awesome volunteers, and to all the runners who showed up for this great event!💚

Formerly known as the Second Empire Grand Prix Series, the new NC Race Series is carrying on the traditions of bringing runners together for fun, community, and competition.

The series continues to have a great, competitive culture for those who are interested in running for time and placement. To be eligible for the Series Awards, runners must run in at least 8 races and register in each race as a competitive runner. At the end of the season, the best 8 times will be scored and totaled. The lower times will be dropped. Awards will be given to the top 5 overall men and women. Awards will also be given to the top 3 age group finishers, men and women. Age groups are as follows: 12-under, 13-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80-over.

Glenaire Retirement Community is proud to present the sixth annual Glenaire 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run on Saturday, April 2, 2022! All 5K participants will have the option to be timed, but recreational runners and walkers are welcome!

All participants are invited to join us after the race to enjoy music, food and beverages! Most race entries include a swag bag, t-shirt, pint glass and a free Papa Murphy’s pizza coupon.
