North Carolina Concerned Citizens Protect North Carolina's children from a medical industry that wants to place profits over ethics. Affiliated with the Health Equality Campaign

Long-standing systemic health and social inequities have put many racial and ethnic minority groups at increased health risks, especially when healthcare systems prioritize revenue over patient outcome. Insurance coverage of newborn infant circumcision is based on the 20th century profit oriented "fee for service" business medical model where unneeded services are promoted to provide greater hospi

tal profits. The medical industry lobbies insurance companies to pay for these services, and insurance companies in turn eagerly increase premium rates. In the case of Medicaid State government pays out more. After more than a decade, North Carolina is floating a proposal to alter its regulatory policy to have the State Medicaid program, once again, pay hospitals and doctors to perform infant circumcision. State officials, pressured by medical groups, are trying to insert clever language into Regulation 1A-22 so routine infant circumcision under State Medicaid can resume for almost any reason. This is in violation of the intent of State law and an unauthorized Medicaid expansion. North Carolina hospitals and clinics are hoping to start profiting from cutting baby boy’s ge****ls again.
