Since Medicare was signed into law on July 30, 1965, the Medicare card has seen a few different looks over the years. From paper cards to today's redesigned card, a lot has changed in Medicare's 61 years.

But here's something that hasn't changed:

⚠️ Medicare is NOT sending plastic Medicare cards.
⚠️ Your Medicare card does NOT need to be activated.

If you receive a mailing with a plastic Medicare card and instructions to "activate" it, it's a scam.

If you get one of these mailings, please report it to the Senior Medicare Patrol (SMP) at Central Arizona Aging (520)836-2758

Help us spread the word and protect Medicare beneficiaries from fraud.
