Operation Abscam: The FBI Caught Them on Camera
🎥 The FBI once set up a sting operation and caught members of Congress on VIDEO accepting cash bribes — and most Americans have never heard of it.
Operation Abscam was an FBI sting in the late 1970s and early 1980s where agents posed as representatives of a fictional wealthy Arab company and offered bribes to politicians in exchange for political favors. More than 30 political figures were investigated, and six members of the U.S. House of Representatives and one U.S. Senator were convicted. 13newsnow

💸 A sitting U.S. Congresswoman was indicted in 2025 for allegedly using COVID relief overpayments to fund her own congressional campaign.

Cherfilus-McCormick (D-FL) was indicted by the Department of Justice in 2025 for violating campaign finance laws by using overpayments to her business from COVID-era programs for her 2022 congressional campaign. She had been under investigation since 2023 by the Office of Congressional Ethics and the House Committee on Ethics for that, as well as allegations of failing to properly disclose required information. Rep. Chaka Fattah: Racketeering, Bribery & Fraud

He served on the House Appropriations Committee — the very committee that controls federal spending — while allegedly running a corruption scheme for years.
He served 10 terms in Congress. Voters kept re-electing him. Nobody was watching.

Foreign Governments Are Buying Congress Members
🌍 Two sitting members of Congress were simultaneously facing charges of being influenced by foreign governments — and one walked free without ever facing trial.
In May 2024, Rep. Henry Cuellar (D-TX) was indicted on charges of accepting almost $600,000 in bribes from Azerbaijan and a Mexican bank. George Santos: He Lied About Everything
🎭 A U.S. Congressman fabricated his entire life story, stole from donors, and used campaign funds for personal expenses — and he was sitting in Congress the whole time.
Rep. George Santos (R-NY) was found by the House Ethics Committee to have violated federal criminal laws, created fictitious campaign loans to hide payments to himself, lied to donors, and falsified financial disclosures. He pleaded guilty in August 2024 to wire fraud and identity theft.
A campaign aide and his campaign treasurer both pleaded guilty to related charges as part of the same scheme. U.S. Senator Ed Markey
