Stop by to say "Hi" to Twiggy any time. Petunia joined her for the dedication, but is too young to stay out on her own, so she only visits when the volunteers are around! The Twiggy donor did the honors of unveiling Twiggy's welcome sign.

The community is invited to attend a brief dedication ceremony for our new mascot - Twiggy, Friday, Oct. 30, 10 AM. We will thank the donor of the Twiggy sculpture and welcome Twiggy as our newest mascot. We suggest parking in the shopping center lot.

Project Staghorn now officially complete! Thanks to the always determined and helpful Green Thumb volunteers, combined with the City Of Punta Gorda - Government Public Works team and their wonderful crew and equipment, our newest Staghorn Fern cluster now has pride of place at the park's west entrance. Stop by and check it out. (Notice the smiles of appreciation on our faces - the heaviest work was done by the city crew!)

In preparation for mounting the latest and largest donated staghorn cluster, this one donated after a prior hurricane was given a new park location thanks to two of our Green Thumb volunteers. The two clusters are just one aspect of the park’s natural beauty.

We're about to mount the huge staghorn that was generously donated by neighbors who have to remove the tree it was hanging in. Here you see the tree in its original location. Thanks to a volunteer with access to the necessary equipment, we were able to relocate this massive beauty to Nature Park where we plan to mount it within the next two weeks.

Words worth reading..."Gardens have a way of giving back - in color, in community, and in beauty that asks you to pause." The PGI Green Thumbs invite you to visit PG Nature Park and reflect on how the park is representative of this quote. Happy 4th of July and U.S. 250!

One of the park's Dendrobium orchids is in bloom! This variety seems to be the most dependable orchid in Nature Park - mounted in a tree and given little attention.

This shrub seedling has taken root in a boulder in Nature Park. This is Turnera Ulmnifolia, aka Florida Buttercup or Yellow Alder. https://ask.ifas.ufl.edu/publication/FP593
