🏆 CELEBRATING A GREAT YEAR AT THE CASTLE! 🏆

Today we officially wrapped up an incredible school year with our 1st–11th Grade Awards Day!

A massive thank you to everyone who came out this morning to help us celebrate our amazing Knights and all of their hard work. We are so incredibly grateful for the wonderful year we've had together at the Castle!

We hope every single one of you has a fantastic, restful summer break, and we already can't wait to see everyone back on campus in the fall!
..But don't think you're getting rid of us that easily! 👀 Be on the lookout, because the Knights will definitely still be posting all summer long! 😂

🎢 CONQUERING CAROWINDS! 🎢

Even though summer is officially starting today, we are finishing a little catch-up to share some of the incredible adventures our students had before the year ended!

A couple of weeks ago, Miss Gray's 5th-grade class packed up and headed down to the Carolinas for an epic field trip to Carowinds! These brave Knights took thrill-seeking to new heights, facing down the daunting drop of the Fury and the wild twists of the Copperhead Strike. When they weren't conquering roller coasters, they were busy battling it out on the bumper cars, dominating the arcade games, and fueling up on plenty of burgers, pizza, and ice cream! 🍦🍕

🌉 A 4TH-GRADE ADVENTURE TO REMEMBER! 🗺️

Last month, Mrs. Bolton’s 4th-grade class set out for an exciting trip to the beautiful New River Gorge, and it was definitely a trip they will all remember!

Let's just say the journey included a slight, unexpected detour that was simply too funny not to document. 😂 In fact, one of our creative teachers even put together a hilarious, multi-page comic to tell the full story of their eventful adventure!

The class had a fantastic time exploring the area, taking in the incredible views, and making some unforgettable memories with our amazing teachers and parent chaperones.

🚓 WE PROMISE WE AREN'T IN TROUBLE! 🚓

If you have noticed a lot of law enforcement at the school lately, don't worry, we promise we are behaving! 😂 This makes our third recent visit from local officers, and we are just so thankful for their community partnerships!

Two weeks ago, we were thrilled to welcome back Captain Adam Ballard from the Mercer County Sheriff's Department for a return visit with Mrs. Bailey’s students.

This time around, Captain Ballard brought some incredible (and hilarious) interactive demonstrations. Our students( and even a few of our staff members) got to experience firsthand exactly how difficult it is to perform simple, everyday tasks while impaired. Mrs. Bailey sent us a ton of videos from these demonstrations, and they are simply too funny not to share. 🚓 MAKING GREAT CHOICES IN 4TH GRADE! 🚓

Yesterday, Mrs. Bolton’s 4th-grade class had the absolute privilege of welcoming Officer Epperson to campus as a special guest speaker!

He spent some time talking with the students about the power of the choices we make, reminding them that every single decision comes with a consequence (whether good or bad). This awesome and important lesson also served as a special sneak peek into the newly revamped D.A.R.E. program!

🎓 CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR K5 GRADUATES! 🎓

Our K5 graduation ceremony is officially wrapping up tonight, and we could not be more proud of these amazing students!

Seeing them all dressed up in their little caps and gowns was an absolute joy. They have learned, played, and grown so much this year. We are sending them off with so much love, endless congratulations, and a huge round of applause as they get ready to take on 1st grade!

🗣️ NAVIGATING MENTAL HEALTH! 🧠

Last Thursday, Mrs. Bailey’s 10th-grade Health class (along with several other high school students) had the privilege of welcoming a fantastic guest speaker to campus! We were so thankful to have Gabrielle Conner, BS, MSW-S, who works with counseling services through Lifeline, join us to speak with our teens.

Gabrielle shared a highly relevant message about the importance of healthy coping strategies for the mental health challenges that adolescents face today. She covered topics like stress, depression, anxiety, and substance abusee (all of which have been important features on our school's health awareness board throughout the year). She also emphasized the crucial importance of making good choices, explaining the powerful impact those everyday decisions have on healthy brain development and setting our students up to become successful, thriving adults.
