Princeton Learning Cooperative School Reimagined PLC offers teens and families in the Princeton area a different approach to living and learning—without school.

We offer mentoring; tutoring; a variety of student-chosen classes; and a safe, comfortable place for teens to work and socialize. Additionally, we help teens with college admissions and the process of finding internships and volunteer work in the community. The common thread for all new PLC members is a shared belief that their lives can get better in a supportive community outside of school. Not a different school, or an alternative school, but outside of school altogether. The staff at PLC helps teens and their families to transition into a new life on their own terms and for their own purposes. Support PLC whenever you buy from Amazon! PLC was recently featured in Princeton Magazine!

The article, “A Different Way to Learn,” takes a look at what makes PLC different and why families are choosing a different approach to education.

If you’ve ever wondered what PLC is all about, this is a great introduction.

A big thank you to Sarah Teo for taking the time to learn about PLC and for capturing our community so thoughtfully. We really appreciate it!

Nestled inside the lower level of a church at 16 All Saints Road in Princeton (though otherwise, no affiliation), you’ll find the welcoming home of the Princeton Learning Cooperative (PLC), a “for people, not profit” center that offers a different alternative to standard schooling.

That's a wrap!
We had a wonderful end to our year at PLC.

We spent the morning celebrating the members who are moving on to adult life and new adventures beyond PLC. There were plenty of laughs as friends shared favorite memories and funny stories, along with a few tears and lots of hugs goodbye.

Afterward, we walked over to the park to gather with families for a potluck lunch and one of our favorite traditions, the ceremonial cutting of the watermelon to mark the beginning of a new phase of life. It was a beautiful day to come together and celebrate all that our members have accomplished.

One of our favorite end-of-year traditions at PLC is Field Day.

PLC teens plan and organize the events and it is always great watching their planning come together in a fun way for the whole community.

This year's activities included kickball, tug of war (teams and individual competitions), face painting, and a scavenger hunt. There was plenty of laughter and friendly competition -also some sitting inside with the air conditioner.

PLC has chicken eggs in the incubator and we’re hoping to see some little chicks hatch in the next week or so. We got to watch chicks hatch last year and it was one of the sweetest experiences. It’s amazing watching the tiny cracks appear and then seeing the little guys finally make their way out into the world.

We’ll keep everyone updated as hatch day gets closer.

We had such a fun day at Point Pleasant Beach Boardwalk.

The weather was perfect and PLC teens spent the day playing arcade games, walking up and down the boardwalk, and enjoying everything the beautiful Jersey Shore has to offer. There were zeppoles, cotton candy, giant lollipops, lots of laughter and some sneaky sea gulls looking for snacks (they didn't get any this time).

We enjoyed the time to explore, and just enjoy being together before summer break.

One of our PLC teens recently led a workshop where participants designed and created their own custom press-on nail sets. Everyone learned how to work with gel polish and left with a set of their own custom made nails and a new creative skill. We love when our teens share their interests, and build confidence in themselves. We had so much fun that we are going to do it again!
