🔔FRIENDS OF JENNY WILEY UPDATE🔔

As many of you know, renovations and construction continue at Jenny Wiley State Resort Park, bringing exciting improvements that will benefit visitors and our community for years to come.

Because of the ongoing work throughout the park, the Friends of Jenny Wiley will not be holding regular meetings for the time being. While we may not be gathering in person, we encourage everyone to continue enjoying the beauty of summer around the park grounds, lake area, and spillway whenever possible.

Please know that we remain committed to supporting Jenny Wiley State Resort Park and will continue to keep our members informed on renovation progress, construction updates, and opportunities to get involved. I will share updates through email and on our page as information becomes available.

As we move closer to the completion of the renovation project, I will let everyone know what to expect regarding future meeting dates and our plans for the remainder of the year.

Thank you for your continued support, enthusiasm, and dedication to Friends of Jenny Wiley. We look forward to gathering again soon and celebrating the exciting future of our park together.🍃🌞🌿

📢 Jenny Wiley State Resort Park Operations Update

We continue to receive questions about dining, lodging, camping, and boat rentals, so we wanted to provide a quick update.

❌ Restaurant and buffet are currently closed.
❌ Marina is currently closed and pontoon rentals are not available.
❌ Lodge rooms & Cabins are currently unavailable.
❌ Campground is currently closed for renovation.

✅ Naturalist programs and activities continue throughout the summer.
✅ The Sassafras Trail remains open.
✅ Public access to Dewey Lake is available through locations outside the marina area.
✅ The Pines Building remains available for meetings and group events.
✅ Construction and renovation work continues across the park.

While several facilities are being improved, there are still opportunities to enjoy Jenny Wiley State Resort Park. Follow our page for information on naturalist programs, park updates, construction progress, and future reopening announcements.

Looking for a creative way to connect with nature? Join us for Nature Journaling at Jenny Wiley State Resort Park! Nature journaling is a great way to slow down, express your creativity, and observe the natural world around you.

• Friday, June 19th
• 5:00–7:00 PM
• Meet at the Outdoor Classroom

Whether you enjoy drawing, writing, or simply spending time outdoors, this program is a fun and relaxing way to experience nature. Bring your own journal or create one with us! All supplies will be provided, including creative writing prompts to help inspire your ideas.

Join us for Sounds of the Forest at JWSRP and experience the park during one of the most active times of day for wildlife. As dusk settles in, listen for the calls of birds, frogs, insects, and other vocal wildlife that help bring the forest to life.

Every 1st Saturday of the month! See the flyer for more details, then join us for a beautiful morning of bird songs and the great outdoors! 🌿🌱🌞

🐦 Spring Bird Walk 🌿

Join us at Jenny Wiley State Resort Park as we search for migratory birds and other wildlife along the trail!

📅 June 6th
⏰ 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM
📍 Outdoor Classroom at the campground entrance
🥾 Trail Difficulty: Easy–Moderate

Participants are encouraged to wear comfortable shoes, bring water, binoculars if they have them, and a keen eye to help spot what birds may be passing through the park 👀

Whether you’re an experienced birder or just getting started, this is a great opportunity to enjoy the outdoors and learn more about the birds of Jenny Wiley State Resort Park.

🚧Renovation Updates for Jenny Wiley State Resort Park

We know many of you are eager to plan your visits, and we truly appreciate your patience as we move through this important renovation period. These improvements are focused on creating a better experience for everyone in the future.

Current Status:
• Lodge, cabins, marina & campground are currently closed
• Pines Building, Business Office & Group Sales are open
• Convention Center dining closed May 3
• Special events only at Convention Center, May 4 – June 15
• Sassafras Trail & lake access and boat-in camping remain open

Looking Ahead (timelines may adjust as work progresses):

• Lodge infrastructure updates: targeting May 2027 completion. The lodge is a truly beautiful and unique structure, and the work underway requires a high level of engineering and care to ensure it’s preserved and strengthened for years to come.

• 1 BR Cabins: anticipated to open mid-to-late July 2026
• 2 BR Cabins: to follow completion of lodge renovations in 2027
• Marina: anticipated to open in late 2026
• Campground: anticipated to open in March 2027
• Convention Center: anticipated to open in Feb 2027

We understand that changes like this can be frustrating, especially for those who plan visits well in advance. We sincerely appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to improve the park for the future.
