The Middle Creek Community Food Pantry will hold our monthly food box distribution for our Middle Creek neighbors this Thursday!

📅 Thursday, October 8, 2026
⏰ 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM
📍 378 Chestnut Grove, Prestonsburg — behind Middle Creek Fire Station 1

🚨 CHECK-IN WILL NOT BEGIN UNTIL 1:00 PM.
Please give our volunteers time to unload, pack boxes, and prepare for distribution. Unless prior arrangements have been made, we will not begin serving before 1:00 PM.

📍 OUR SERVICE AREA
We serve the Middle Creek area, including KY 114 from KY 404 to the Floyd/Magoffin County line and State Road Fork across to Bonanza. Our pantry does not serve all of Floyd County.

📝 NEW TO OUR PANTRY?
Anyone wanting to sign up for food pantry service will need to complete an application to determine eligibility, including meeting applicable USDA income guidelines. Please see one of our volunteers during distribution for assistance with signing up.

If you live outside our service area and need food assistance, reach out to us! We’ll be happy to help you locate resources that serve your area. You can also find assistance through God’s Pantry Food Bank:

🌟🎃 Middle Creek neighbor spotlight 🎃🌟

If you got this month’s edition of Kentucky Living magazine, you may see a familiar face and story to not only us here on the creek but in Floyd County.

Here is the article and link form Kentucky Living talking about our friend and neighbor Dwight Slone, The Pumpkin Man-

Dwight Slone is a farmer and retired municipal worker from Floyd County who grows giant pumpkins—and who has inspired many other pumpkin growers in Kentucky. Read more about Slone, as well as the Kentucky State Fair’s Largest Pumpkin and Watermelon Contest. Photo: Tim Webb
