Butterfly Bridge, CAC Satellite Office of Autauga County Minimize Trauma~
The trauma of being abused is more than any child deserves. This lessens the impact on the victim and family.

The Butterfly Bridge, CAC Satellite Office of Autauga County provides forensic Interviews, counseling and family advocacy services to child abuse victims in Autauga County. Butterfly Bridge CAC exists to minimize that trauma and help rebuild little lives shattered by abuse. Butterfly Bridge, Children’s Advocacy Center offers a non-threatening environment where a multidisciplinary team works togeth

er to minimize any further trauma during the justice and restoration process. One Time, One Place~
Instead of having to be interviewed multiple times by different agencies and attorneys, children are able to tell their story once, and the information is then shared among appropriate parties. As the process moves along, the child may receive counseling and other services in this same, non-threatening, nourishing environment.

👻 snapchat: what parents should know

Snapchat is popular because messages and photos disappear after viewing—but that doesn't mean they're gone forever.

Potential Risks:
⚠️ Screenshots can still be taken
⚠️ Location sharing through Snap Map
⚠️ Contact from strangers
⚠️ Pressure to send inappropriate images
Safety Tips:
✅ Turn off Snap Map or limit location sharing
✅ Review privacy settings together
✅ Discuss that "disappearing" messages can still be saved
✅ Encourage children to only connect with people they know in real life
Conversation Starter:
"What would you do if someone you didn't know tried to add you on Snapchat?"

📱 Kids Are Online More Than Ever
The internet can be a great place to learn, connect, and create—but it also comes with risks.
Children and teens may encounter:
⚠️ Online predators
⚠️ Cyberbullying
⚠️ Inappropriate content
⚠️ Scams and phishing attempts
⚠️ Pressure to share personal information

The best protection isn't just parental controls—it's open conversations and active involvement.

This month, BBCAC is launching our "Connected & Protected" series to help caregivers better understand the apps children use every day.

💙 Together, we can help keep kids safe online.

More free time often means more time online. Whether children are gaming, messaging friends, scrolling social media, or exploring new apps, summer can bring new digital experiences and new challenges.

One of the most important things adults can do is create an environment where children feel safe asking for help.

If something online feels uncomfortable, confusing, or concerning, children should know they can come to a safe adult without fear of judgment or punishment.

Because digital safety is not just about technology. It's about trust, communication, and knowing where to turn when something doesn't feel right. Read more about digital safety in our latest blog at bit.ly/D2L2026SummerSafety.

💙 The Power of a Positive Male Role Model 💙

This Father's Day, we celebrate the fathers, grandfathers, stepfathers, uncles, coaches, mentors, and father figures who make a difference in the lives of children every day.

Research shows that positive male role models can help children build confidence, develop healthy relationships, improve emotional well-being, and feel safe and supported as they grow.

At Butterfly Bridge Children's Advocacy Center, we see firsthand how caring, consistent adults can impact a child's healing journey. Sometimes, a simple act of encouragement, a listening ear, or showing up when it matters most can make all the difference.

Today, we honor the men who lead with patience, kindness, integrity, and love. Thank you for being a source of strength, guidance, and hope for the children in your lives.
Together, we can help create brighter days for every child. 🦋

When a child is referred to Butterfly Bridge Children's Advocacy Center, they are not navigating the process alone.

BBCAC serves as a neutral, child-focused agency, bringing together professionals who work collaboratively to support children and families throughout the investigative and healing process. Our goal is to reduce trauma, provide support, and help families understand what comes next.

Here's what that journey may look like:
🔹 Forensic Interview
A specially trained forensic interviewer talks with the child in a safe, child-friendly environment, allowing them to share their experience one time with the professionals who need the information.
🔹 Family Advocacy
Our Family Advocates walk alongside caregivers, providing support, resources, referrals, updates, and guidance throughout the process.
🔹 Medical Services
Children are referred for a specialized medical examination conducted by trained medical professionals.
🔹 Trauma-Focused Therapy
Children and families have access to evidence-based counseling services designed to promote healing and recovery from trauma.
🔹 Court Preparation & Support
If a case moves forward in the legal system, our team helps children and caregivers understand what to expect and provides support throughout the process.

At Butterfly Bridge CAC, we are more than a single service—we are a bridge connecting children and families to the support, advocacy, and healing they deserve.

💙 Every child deserves a safe place to be heard. Every family deserves someone to walk beside them.

🦋 Digital Safety Starts at Home 🦋
Today's children spend more time online than ever before. Regular conversations about internet safety can help protect them.
Talk with your child about:
📱 What apps and games they use.
📱 Never sharing personal information online.
📱 Telling a trusted adult if someone makes them uncomfortable.
📱 Understanding that not everyone online is who they claim to be.
The goal isn't just monitoring—it's building trust so children know they can come to you if something happens online.
