A Non-Profit Theatre Organization in Schuylkill County founded by Artistic Director, Emily Ehlinger

Schuylkill Free Shakespeare commits itself to community enrichment, education, and celebration. We know the words of Shakespeare have survived because of the timelessness of his stories and what they reveal to us about the human condition. Our production will be in the open air, under the stars, and accessible to everyone in the community free of charge. We aspire to create an official non profit business that entertains and educates the community. As we move forward we want to create a home for artists who are originally from our area as well as a home away from home to welcome in new voices & stories.

Today Schuylkill Free Shakespeare was honored to receive a special recognition from the State Senate and State House of Representatives for the momentous occasion of their 10th anniversary!

Senator Dave Argall and Representative Tim Twardzik stopped by Minersville Area High School to present the certificates to Founding Artistic Director Emily Ehlinger and SFS Board Members Joe McDonald and Sabrina Willinsky.

It was particularly special to celebrate this moment with The Minersville Area Drama Club. Founding Artistic Director, Emily Ehlinger was once a member and currently leads the 52 year old program. (The longest running Drama Club in Schuylkill County!)

Go see this funny and moving show directed by Kamryn Felty-Heck, our Nurse from this year’s Romeo and Juliet. Josh Heck, who played Paris, did fight choreography and is supposedly a stud (Kamryn’s words, not ours).

Grab your party. Roll the dice. Let the adventure begin!

NEXT ON STAGE at Lebanon Community Theatre: SHE KILLS MONSTERS ⚔️

Monsters, sword fights, ’90s nostalgia, and a whole lot of heart! This fall, step into a world where the biggest battles aren’t always fought with a sword.

When Agnes discovers her late sister Tilly’s Dungeons & Dragons notebook, she embarks on an adventure that brings her closer to the sister she never fully knew. What follows is a funny, moving journey through grief, identity, friendship, and the courage to embrace who you are.

This production also marks an exciting first for director Kamryn Felty-Heck! Usually seen performing onstage, Kamryn is stepping into the director’s role for the first time. We’re thrilled to celebrate this new chapter with her and invite you to support her directorial debut, along with the cast bringing this unforgettable adventure to life!
