Schuylkill Free Shakespeare A Non-Profit Theatre Organization in Schuylkill County founded by Artistic Director, Emily Ehlinger

Schuylkill Free Shakespeare commits itself to community enrichment, education, and celebration. We know the words of Shakespeare have survived because of the timelessness of his stories and what they reveal to us about the human condition. Our production will be in the open air, under the stars, and accessible to everyone in the community free of charge. We aspire to create an official non profit

business that entertains and educates the community. As we move forward we want to create a home for artists who are originally from our area as well as a home away from home to welcome in new voices & stories.

In need of an indoor rehearsal space for extreme heat/weather.

We just found out that our upcoming production of Pride & Prejudice was not actually written by Shakespeare, but by a 19th century novelist by the name of Jane Austen. Who knew?

That said, we are excited to announce our new subsidiary, Schuylkill Free Austen, the logo of which may or may not have gotten the Ms PAC-Man treatment.

Come see Pride & Prejudice, along with Shakespeare’s Romeo & Juliet, this August 6-9 at the Pottsville Lions Club Amphitheater.
