What an incredible opening night!
The Canner Foundation is proud to support the Biglerville High School musical Mean Girls, and wow — the students, musicians, and crew delivered a truly phenomenal performance last night! The singing was impressive, the energy was contagious, and the talent on that stage was nothing short of inspiring.
Live theater is such a special experience — from the thrill the performers feel on stage to the lasting memories created for cast, crew, pit musicians, and everyone in the audience. It’s not easy to sing, dance, and act all at once, but these students made it look effortless!
A heartfelt thank you to our generous donors and all those who supported these students along the way — your encouragement and contributions helped make this incredible production possible.
If you missed opening night, don’t worry — you still have a chance! Come out tonight or tomorrow to support the arts in our community and see firsthand what Biglerville students are capable of. You won’t want to miss it!

We’re so grateful to the Canner Foundation donors for making meaningful, hands-on learning experiences possible for Upper Adams Intermediate School students!
Recently, students from Life Skills at UAIS had the opportunity to visit Under the Horizon Pottery Studio in Biglerville. During this engaging field trip, they explored the properties of clay by creating flowers, cats, and apples—letting their creativity shine!
A special highlight of the day was watching demonstration on the pottery wheel. Students were fascinated by the process and even had the chance to select a bowl, freshly made that morning, to shape into their own unique creation.
Experiences like this not only spark creativity but also build confidence and real-world skills. Thank you for supporting opportunities that make learning come to life!

Thank you to our donors for making it possible for the Canner Foundation to support, Mrs. Maclay's Elementary School Art Club! We were able to offer two separate sessions, each with 24 students, to meet once a week after school. Mrs. Maclay is a gem! She donated her time to plan and execute this program so that art loving students could enjoy the opportunity to have some extra creative time. Thank you Mrs. Maclay! Supplies were covered by the Canner Foundation. The first session just wrapped and we wanted to share some photos. Also, we would like to announce that the Gettysburg Baking Company in Biglerville, graciously allowed Mrs. Maclay to exhibit student art work from her regular classes and art club. Your donations can be one-time or recurring. You can also make your donation in memory of a loved one.
What’s the advantage of contributing to the Canner endowment? The Adams County Community Foundation pools everyone’s donations and invests them. Each year Canner Foundation receives a distribution check from the Community Foundation that is used to fund projects benefiting the students and teachers of Upper Adams School District. The benefits from your donation go on literally forever.

A huge thank you to Canner Foundation donors for making this experience possible. Loaves of Fun is an exciting educational interactive in-house field trip. They transformed Biglerville Elementary cafeteria into a bakery where First Graders spent 90 minutes measuring, mixing, pouring, and working together to make their very own loaf of bread! They followed multi-step directions and got messy along the way! Students experienced learning opportunities that fit into the social studies, math, and science curriculum all the while the students were having “loaves” of fun!

Sole Sisters is an incredible organization that inspires young girls to be joyful, healthy, and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum that creatively integrates running. Beyond physical activity, the program builds life skills, encourages teamwork, and helps participants develop strong self-esteem and healthy habits that last a lifetime.

The Canner Foundation is glad that we could make a contribution to the The Adams County Imagination Library! Since starting in September 2025 Adams County now has over 1000 kids ages 0-5 signed up. Early reading leads to student success. Sign your pre-K child up today! Thank you to everyone who made a donation so our county’s kids can have this wonderful opportunity!
