Last evening, our Tower was requested by our neighbors and friends to the west, the Buchanan Valley Fire Department, for a junior firefighter training session.

Members of BVFD had the opportunity to become familiar with the Tower’s operations, equipment, and capabilities through hands on training and instruction. Trainings like these are a great opportunity for younger members to gain experience, build confidence, and strengthen the working relationships between neighboring departments.

We appreciate the opportunity to assist with the training and are always proud to support the next generation of firefighters.

ELEVATED RISK OF WILDFIRE SPREAD THURSDAY
A combination of dry and breezy conditions this afternoon and evening will create an elevated risk of wildfire spread, especially for south central Pennsylvania. Minimum relative humidity values will range from 20 to 35 percent accompanied by wind gusts between 20 and 25 mph.

Residents are urged to exercise caution if handling any potential ignition sources, such as machinery, ci******es, or matches. If dry grasses and tree litter begin to burn, the fire will have the potential to spread rapidly.

For more information about wildfire danger and wildfire prevention and education, please visit the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources website at http://dcnr.pa.gov/Communities/Wildfire.

Today, Tower 5 alongside York County’s Truck 11 proudly raised the American flag in honor of Kevin Brehm during his funeral services.

Kevin dedicated his life to serving others, and his commitment, sacrifice, and legacy will never be forgotten.

We are honored to pay tribute to a life of service and to stand in support of his family, friends, and fellow brothers and sisters during this difficult time.

Rest easy, Kevin.

This week, we proudly recognize and celebrate National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week.

To the voices behind the headset, thank you. Your calm under pressure, quick thinking, and dedication are what keep our responders and community safe every single day. You are the critical link between those in need and the help they depend on.

From all of us at Arendtsville Fire Company, we extend our sincere gratitude for your service, professionalism, and unwavering commitment.

We couldn’t do what we do without you.

This past weekend, volunteers from the Arendtsville Fire Company responded to assist Franklin County Company 7 with a mountain fire. Crews operated on scene for several hours, working diligently to bring the incident under control.

Units including Service 5, UTV 5, and Brush 5 responded, while additional personnel remained back to staff the Engine and Tower, ensuring continued coverage for our local community.

With current dry conditions creating a high fire danger, we urge everyone to use extreme caution and help prevent wildfires.

Arendtsville Fire Company, Bendersville Fire Company, Biglerville Fire Company, and other first responders came together for this year’s Prom Promise event held at the Biglerville High School.

E5-1 split crews, assisting R6 with patient extrication and establishing/handling the landing zone for the Wellflight 2-8.

We were proud to stand alongside other local first responders to help demonstrate the real life consequences of impaired and distracted driving. Events like these are a powerful reminder to make smart, safe decisions, especially during prom season!

Stay safe, make good choices, and look out for one another.

Spring is here, and so is an increased risk of wildfires.

A reminder that campfires and open burning are not permitted in Pennsylvania state forests from March 1 through May 25 under state forest regulations. Please use extra caution with fire this season—and always!

Note: state parks, state park campsites, and private property are not affected by this burn ban.

BIG NEWS FROM ARENDTSVILLE COMMUNITY FIRE COMPANY

After much discussion, planning, and a few very long coffee-fueled meetings… we are excited to announce that ACFC has officially decided to transition away from our long-standing relationship with Sutphen apparatus.

Effective immediately, we will be welcoming a brand new Seagrave Tower to the fleet.

We appreciate everything Sutphen has provided us over the years, but we’re looking forward to this new direction and the opportunities it brings for our members and community.

More details, photos, and delivery updates coming soon…

Tower 5, alongside Truck 1, proudly raised the American flag in honor of U.S. Army Specialist Krystofer Lopez as his funeral procession passed.

It was a small but meaningful tribute to show our respect, gratitude, and remembrance for a life that will not be forgotten. Our thoughts and prayers remain with his family, friends, and all those impacted during this difficult time.
