A non-profit organization that connects people to the Schuylkill River through recreational events hosted on the Schuylkill River Trail and Schuylkill River.

Schuylkill River Greenways National Heritage Area promotes stewardship & economic growth by championing & protecting abundant natural, cultural, historic, and recreational resources, with a focus on connecting communities to the Schuylkill River & Trail. With the 128-mile Schuylkill River as its spine, the Schuylkill River NHA is alive with historical, recreational, conservational, and educational activities.

It’s our favorite time of year! The Scenes of the Schuylkill Art Show and Sale will be open from December 4 to January 29 at MCCC’s North Hall Gallery.
ARTISTS! This is a juried exhibition with cash prizes. Please check out the 2026 Prospectus link in bio, or visit our website. DROP OFF for pieces will be November 30 from 9 am to 4:30 pm at MCCC.
The reception will be on December 9, and all submitting artists get two free tickets! 🖼️

Drumroll, please!

The miles are in, the fundraising dollars are logged...and we're here to announce the winners of our Stewardship Trail Challenge! 🎉

👏👏 Please join us in congratulating top fundraisers Mark Nevenglosky and Leslie Sterling, as well as top mileage winner Andrew Schilthuis (who logged an impressive 707 miles on the SRT during the challenge)! As winners, they are headed home with some seriously cool vintage SRT signs. (Yes, you may hang them in your living room. We won't judge!) 👏👏

And a giant THANK YOU to everyone who laced up, hopped on a bike, or strolled along the Schuylkill River Trail with us during our first Trail Challenge. Every mile logged and fundraising dollar raised will go directly toward supporting the Stewardship Fund, a sustainable source of revenue for trail maintenance for years to come.

Trail Challenge champs, we see you!

Thank you to everyone who participated in our first annual Trail Challenge to benefit the Stewardship Fund! We appreciate you logging miles on the SRT and starting fundraising pages to bring in more dollars and awareness about the critical need for a permanent solution to trail maintenance. You pedaled, paced, and paddled like pros, and for that we are eternally grateful!

Think you may be a TOP MILEAGE FINISHER?

Don’t forget to submit your miles by END OF DAY SUNDAY, OCT. 18 to be considered for our top mileage prizes in cycling, running, and paddling. As a friendly reminder, there are some pretty sweet vintage SRT signs up for grabs as prizes, so don’t be afraid to throw your hat in the ring!

An EXTRAORDINARY day for the First Annual Schuylkill Shuffle! About 140 runners enjoyed a most excellent run this morning — awards were bestowed (delicious cookie cakes!), raffle prizes were won (a Blackstone griddle!), c***r donuts and b**r were consumed, and a fabulous trail was enjoyed by all!

Hey, you! Water you waiting for?!

Running the Schuylkill River Trail Shuffle this weekend or planning a nice autumnal walk or ride on the SRT? Keep your eyes peeled! 👀👀

We've added some fun signs to the trail with some extremely cheesy puns, and we're not sorry about it. We hope they grab your attention, make you roll your eyes, and at the very least, give you a good laugh.

The puns may be corny, but the facts are real: It costs a lot of money to maintain the SRT and we need your help to make the final year of the Stewardship Fund Campaign a success!

So while you're out on the trail this weekend, look out for our signs (just north of Riverfront Park) to learn more about what the Stewardship Fund will support. And if you're feeling generous, or simply want to support our poor attempt at humor for sake of fundraising, scan the QR codes to learn more about the Stewardship Fund or to donate!
