Before a young person believes in a path, sometimes a parent has to see it first.
That is why this week’s MADE article is focused on parents, skilled trades, and career readiness.
A lot of young people do not know what is possible in plumbing, electrical, carpentry, HVAC, landscaping, construction, or property maintenance because they have never been exposed to it.
But when parents understand that skilled trades are not a backup plan, they can help their children see more options.
Not every student learns the same way.
Some students come alive when they are working with their hands.
Some students need to build it, fix it, try it, and see it before it makes sense.
That does not mean they are not smart.
It means they learn differently.
