Graduated from a MADE program and looking for work? R&M Equipment Company in Spring City, PA, has four positions open. They’re also willing to consider an apprentice who’s a good fit.

Open positions:

* Assembly Technician — Assemble, paint, and test industrial blower equipment. Training may be available.
* Industrial Blower Mechanic — Inspect, repair, maintain, assemble, and test industrial blowers.
* Inside Sales Support — Help customers, prepare sales and service quotes, process orders, and support the sales and service teams.
* Warehouse Associate — Receive and store inventory, prepare shipments, help load and unload trucks, and keep the warehouse organized.

Experience and qualifications vary by position. Some helpful skills include using tools, reading measurements or manuals, basic math, computer skills, customer service, and working well with a team. Before a young person believes in a path, sometimes a parent has to see it first.

That is why this week’s MADE article is focused on parents, skilled trades, and career readiness.

A lot of young people do not know what is possible in plumbing, electrical, carpentry, HVAC, landscaping, construction, or property maintenance because they have never been exposed to it.

But when parents understand that skilled trades are not a backup plan, they can help their children see more options.

Not every student learns the same way.

Some students come alive when they are working with their hands.
