We were proud to host our annual REA New Teacher Breakfast this morning and welcome educators from across the district! 🍎☕️

Building representatives shared helpful information with our newest teachers, including daily considerations, contract information, and the support available through PSEA.

And, of course, no breakfast is complete without some fun! 🎉 New teachers had the chance to win raffle prizes, including district swag, teacher comedy show tickets, books for their classrooms, and caffeine gift cards to help fuel the school year ahead!

A special thank you to the local businesses we were happy to support through our raffle purchases and this week for our new staff!

☕️ Bucktown Beans (ok - Adam refused our money and gave us coffee cards😆❤️)
🎟️ SoulJoel's at SunnyBrook also donated show tickets
🍪 Dutch Country Farm Market
📚 Starr Books

We’re proud to partner with and invest in our local community while helping make our new teachers feel welcomed and celebrated. ❤️

Thank you to Owen J. Chartwells for breakfast! 🥯

Here’s to a fantastic school year and a warm welcome to all of our new teachers! 📚❤️

We had the very distinct privilege of recognizing our May Teacher of the Month last week, Ms. Samantha Nelson. Ms. Nelson is recognized for her high quality teaching in our math department, forming great connections with all of our students, and being an incredibly supportive colleague and friend to so many in our building. She is a wonderful advocate for everyone and a true asset to the OJR MS community! We are proud to have her as a Wildcat! Congratulations, Ms. Nelson!

📣 Excuse the jeans! 👖
This week, our staff is participating in a dress-down fundraiser to support the REA Scholarship, which helps graduating seniors interested in pursuing a degree in Education.

So when you see OJR staff sporting denim, know we’re dressing down for a great cause and investing in our students’ futures. ❤️
