We’re proud to sponsor the Virginia Woods trail, one of the many that make up the Portland Trails network.

As part of that commitment, Woodhull team members spent some time together on trail improvements, replacing bridges, adding accessibility ramps, updating trailhead signage, clearing felled dead and hazardous trees, and tidying up.

We’re grateful to Portland Trails for maintaining these valuable spaces accessible to so many!

We're so excited to be partnering with the Gulf of Maine Research Institute for one of their upcoming Fall Fridays events! Next Friday, Oct. 2nd, join us for a lunchtime walk and talk through the Fore River Sanctuary marsh to chat about how rising sea levels are affecting trail access.

The Stroudwater bridge is officially OPEN! 🎀✂️

On Friday, we joined together with PARKS, RECREATION & FACILITIES and Mayor Dion & Councilor Phillips from City of Portland (the original one) to cut the ribbon on the bridge over the Stroudwater River. Thank you to everyone who helped us along this 10-year journey, and thanks to everyone who joined us to celebrate! This project was only possible thanks to our close partnership with our friends at the City’s Parks, Recreation & Facilities department (pictured with the PT team on the last slide).

We’re so excited for all the amazing trail connections that are possible now thanks to this bridge!

Come celebrate the new Stroudwater bridge with us tomorrow! 🎀✂️

Join the City of Portland and Portland Trails as we officially open the new Stroudwater Bridge! Built with accessibility in mind, this key addition connects the Stroudwater River Trail with the Fore River Sanctuary, paving the way for the future 3-mile Stroudwater Connector Route.

Come celebrate this major community milestone with us down by the river!

Location: Stroudwater Bridge (Trailhead between 48 & 54 Owls Nest Rd, off Westbrook St)

Directions: Take the trailhead path between 48 and 54 Owls Nest Road, follow the trail through the field, and head down the slope to the river's edge.

⚠️ FYI: There’s some construction underway that will affect access to the Thompson’s Point Trail this week. The trail will be temporarily closed Tuesday, Sept. 15 through Thursday, Sept. 17.

Have you heard about Riptide, the brand new mountain bike trail in the Fore River Sanctuary? 🚵‍♀️ The Portland Trails staff checked it out earlier this week to see just how cool this new trail is.

🛠️ Thank you to our friends at Greater Portland NEMBA for being the engine behind this project, and to Maine Trail Builders for lending their expertise and skill!

🤔 Why a mountain bike specific trail? Mountain bikers are a growing trail user base, and we love having them on our trails. By creating a designated loop trail for them to use, we can meet the needs of all our trail users while minimizing conflicting uses. Plus, the trails overall are less impacted by use AND are easier to maintain. Everybody wins!

❗️Bikers, always yield to slower trail users!

⚠️ Whether you’re mountain biking, walking, or running, PLEASE make sure to pay attention to the one-way, do not enter, and trail crossing signs!

Join TEMPOart Maine, Portland Trails, and Queerly ME for nature drawing fundraiser! Savor September in Maine with a pencil in your hand. Artist Pame Chévez will lead a drawing practice inspired by the sights, sounds, smells, patterns, and emotions you experience surrounded by nature.

Pencils and sketchbooks will be provided for all participants, but please feel free to bring your own materials.

This activity is led by Pame Chévez (she/her) Pame Chevez. Pame is an artist whose work is at the intersection of art and tech, driven by her curiosity and authenticity. Her work includes illustration, packaging, visual identity, murals, and more. Thank you, Pame, for leading this activity!
