Please join the City of Portland and Leadership Portland Class XVIII at their Storybook Walk Dedication and Ribbon Cutting Ceremony! Such an exciting and worthwhile Leadership Portland class project!

Our Leadership Portland Class XVIII final class, Major Industry and Economy, was the perfect finale with which to round off the year! Much gratitude to the session facilitators Michelle Koesema, Michelle Hinojosa Reyes and Nydia Marin for organizing this VERY informative session! We began at the Port of Corpus Christi Authority with an amazing presentation, then on to Cheniere for a presentation and lunch. Our afternoon began with an engaging presentation and tour at Arcelor Mittal (see the photo of Tom Bridges with a replica of the actual Olympic torch built from steel supplied by Arcelor Mittal!) then continued with a tour and presentation at the San Patricio Municipal Water District. We also thank GCGV for welcoming us to their facility! Tom Bridges led the leadership portion of the class. A very special thanks to Cheniere for sponsoring the delicious lunch and the very nice bus for the session! What a wonderful year we had!

April afforded an opportunity for us to visit our County Courthouse! Many thanks to our amazing facilitators, Heather Marks and Ashley Cox! We learned about our County Court system, hearing from our County Attorney, Tamara Cochran-May, and District Attorney, Margie Silva. We heard from Texas Ranger, Cody Lankford, our Sheriff's Office Chief Deputy, Adrian Rodriguez, and County Constable, Kody Farenthold. Our Tax Assossor-Collector, Marcy Thormaehlen spoke on taxes and valuation. Our yummy lunch at the Butterchurn was sponsored by District Clerk, Heather Marks, and Tax Assessor-Collector, Marcy Thormaehlen. We learned about the 7 C's of Leadership from Heather Marks and Ashley Cox.
