Wikman-Arleta Building Project

Wikman-Arleta Building Project This surplus County building at SE 64th and Holgate in Portland has the potential to transform our neighborhood. Your voice matters!

The Wikman-Arleta Building was originally built in 1919 and is located in the heart of the burgeoning Foster-Powell neighborhood. Formerly the Arleta Library, and later used by Multnomah County for anti-poverty programming and as a juvenile justice office, the building is now being offered back to the community. A coalition of community members and local organizations have banded together to creat

e a new identity for this historic building. We envision a combination of entrepreneurial and community-building uses such as a multi-cultural community center, indoor farmer’s market, credit union, art and music center, business incubator and internet café, which would also offer multi-purpose rooms for meetings, classes and events.
