If you love the Portland Winter Light Festival, you already know what matters to this community: light, art and shared experiences that bring people together after dark. Today, we’re excited to share that the organization behind the Festival has a new name: Nightlab.

Nightlab is the new name for the nonprofit formerly known as the Willamette Light Brigade. The new identity reflects the broader work of the organization behind the Light Festival, from the Morrison Bridge Lighting Program to the Illuminate Bridge City initiative and the Light-Based Public Art Program. While the name is new, the spirit of the work remains the same. Learn more at https://nightlabpdx.org/

“As I crossed the bridge, the red lights took my breath away.” On nights like this, the impact of light becomes clear.

After illuminating the Morrison Bridge in red in honor of fallen firefighters, we heard from Portland Fire about how powerful that moment was, for them, for their Chief, for their community.

Firefighters put their lives on the line every day. Using light to honor that sacrifice is the least we can do. ❤️

We’re grateful for the opportunity to help tell these stories.
