Learn the basics of mural making with artist and designer Pame Chévez during Artists at Play: Intro to Mural Making on Friday, July 24, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Children's Museum & Theatre of Maine. The workshop is free with museum admission.

Hosted as part of TEMPOart's Artists at Play summer series, participants will collaborate with Chévez to transform a surfboard into a marine-themed artwork using pre-made stencils before painting the final design together. Chévez's practice combines art and technology through projects rooted in curiosity and authentic community engagement.

The Artists at Play series highlights Maine artists who are creating public art for Portland in 2026 through TEMPOart, an organization that commissions temporary public artworks designed to encourage conversation, strengthen community, and bring new ideas into shared spaces.
