This network is an initiative of Justice in the Body, LLC. Launching September 1 2013 in Portland, Maine. We are building a local exchange network of holistic health practitioners who are giving care, to get care. We support vibrancy, increase access and build community. In a survey of Greater Portland holistic health care providers conducted in the fall of 2011, 95% said that if there were no bar
riers, they would seek more holistic health care. Currently, 86% of practitioners receive 5 or less hours of holistic health care per month and 52% of practitioners receive 2 or less hours of holistic health care per month. How it works:
Our pilot project will consist of 25 holistic health practitioners who will each give anywhere from 1 hour up to 4 hours of care each month. For each hour of care given each month, practitioners may receive an hour care from the network providers. Our exchange network will be run through GenBook online scheduling system. Time exchange will be measure in 15 minute increments. For example...
Sally, LIcensed Massage therapist schedules to give two 90 minute massages to our folk in the network during the month of June. Sally is then able to schedule herself 3 hours of care from practitioners during the month of June. She might get a 30 minute minute reflexology appt, a 1 hour acupuncture appt., and get a 1.5 hour yoga therapy appt. During 2013, we will run a four month pilot program of the Holistic Health Exchange Network. March-June 2013. We will soon be posting and accepting applications for our first group of network practitioners. Network practitioners will need the following to participate:
* Certification/license in your modality
* A professional space to offer your work out of
* Liability insurance (if applicable to your modality)
We're also figuring out how to include teachers in our network and their units of exchange. Fees:
$75 fee for 4 pilot month program (Fees go towards GenBook scheduling, administrative work & office rental)
