Check out this recent Home Repair project in North Portland! Volunteers helped replace a rotting deck and installed accessibility aids in the bathroom — the kind of repairs that make daily life safer and more comfortable at home.

Our Home Repair program is now accepting applications from 𝗩𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗻 𝗵𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗼𝘄𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀. This round is made possible through funding from Oregon Housing and Community Services' Veteran Restore Health and Safety Program.

We're anticipating another application round for the general public this winter!

On the longest day of the year, we couldn't resist these sparkling photos of Myrtlewood Way at night.

Soon, these sidewalks will be filled with neighbors, celebrations, and the everyday moments that turn houses into home.

Phase 1 homes all received their Certificates of Occupancy this week, bringing move-in day one step closer!

Let’s soak in this beautiful evening and all the hope it represents ✨

A heartfelt thank you to Colliers and the employees who came together to support future homeowners at Myrtlewood Way, our new community of 20 affordable homes in Gresham.

Through a team fundraising effort, they provided fire extinguishers that will be given to new homeowners as they move into their homes — a practical gift that brings added peace of mind from day one.

We're especially grateful to Austin McElroy, a member of our Ambassador Council, for helping champion this effort.

We loved celebrating our incredible volunteers yesterday! Faces new and old from ReStores to construction sites came together to share memories, laughs, and a beautiful afternoon.

“It’s like a family,” according to longtime ReStore volunteer Sam. “Habitat brings together all types of people, and I’ve made great friends.”

We presented Brauner Circle of Volunteer Excellence awards to individuals who have given over 2,000 hours of service. Your commitment makes a lasting impact on both the Habitat family and countless families in our community.

To our volunteers: You make it all possible. Thank you for your dedication! 💙

Our board members recently grabbed paintbrushes and hammers and made great progress at Twenty Fifth Terrace!

They painted three garages and removed temporary wall supports in building three. Every beam and brushstroke brings this beautiful 17-home community closer to welcoming homeowners!

St. Pius X volunteers showed up in a big way for the Pope Leo Village! They helped sheath a garage, install subflooring, and tackled other important tasks at our new community in SW Portland.

A huge thank you to group leader and Core Volunteer Mike Kondrat for bringing his team together.

And a special shout-out to St. Pius X’s Columbiettes for generously providing lunch AND donating snacks for future volunteers. You didn’t just feed our team — you fueled this project forward!

“We had resolved that owning a home was just that… a dream.”

For the Shelton family, homeownership felt out of reach. With four children and a teacher's income, they’d made peace with the idea that a home of their own simply wasn't in the cards.

Then their landlord informed them that the house they’d been renting for years would no longer be available.

Just weeks after learning they needed to find a new place to live, applications opened for Habitat’s new community in Lake Oswego. The Sheltons applied on the very first day.

They told us, “The application was the easy part. The waiting was the difficult part.”

As they waited, they kept searching. But it felt like “door after door after door was closing in our face.”

Then came the call they never expected to receive.

“To be here right now, knowing that because of Habitat we may actually, for the first time, be able to permanently set down roots in a place is everything. That we may actually be able to breathe a little easier knowing our kids have a warm, safe home that they can live in without worrying about it being taken away.”

Thank you to the Shelton family for sharing their story so openly and honestly. We are honored to be part of their journey and grateful for the reminder that a stable home can open the door to possibility, security, and hope.
