Each box is filled with pantry staples that help families facing food insecurity stretch their grocery budgets and get through the week.

We provide free food boxes every week through our home-delivery program, made possible by the generosity of this community.

It’s our LAST MONTH in Wilsonville!

After six years in a vacant grocery store, Sunshine Division is finally moving on. Since 2020, Safeway Albertsons has generously allowed us to use this temporary space rent-free to help meet the growing need for hunger relief in Portland.

This building has been a second home for our team. It’s allowed us to welcome hundreds of volunteers while showing us what’s possible with more space to serve the community.

A special thank-you to Safeway Albertsons and Jill McGinnis for your ongoing support as we begin our next chapter near the heart of Portland!

Big shoutout to our volunteer Ryan, who has been supporting Sunshine Division at our Stark Street food pantry almost every week for the past year!

“It’d be nice if we could get people fed. It’s something that’s important to me. I grew up having to go to food pantries, it’s what kept my family eating. And seeing people smile and light up when they get their food just makes me want to keep doing it.”

WOW. What a night. ✨

Thank you to everyone who made the 13th Annual SHINE Gala & Auction, presented by Fred Meyer, our most successful SHINE yet! Together, we raised nearly $330,000 to help provide food assistance for families across the Portland metro area.

Today's Pantry Finds! We got some new items in this week at our Stark Street location, including Larabars, ice cream, yogurt, meat sticks, frozen dinners, tangerines, and pork shoulder!

If you need food assistance, schedule a pantry visit at sunshinedivision.org. Appointments will be required starting Friday, May 15th, as we prepare to open our second location near Slabtown and transition to a shopping-style experience.

Sunshine Division is getting closer to opening our new shopping-style Free Food Market near the heart of Portland!

We are SO excited to open our doors and welcome neighbors who need food assistance to pick out groceries that best fit their needs in a warm, welcoming space.

Our goal is to open by early June. An official opening date is coming soon!

For the first time in 103 years, Sunshine Division has a home that's fully designed to meet the growing need for hunger relief across Portland.

For decades, Sunshine Division operated out of an aging warehouse built in the 1920s with no loading docks, poor climate control, and limited space.

That all changed in 2020, when Safeway Albertsons Companies generously provided Sunshine Division with a vacant grocery store, rent-free, to help us keep up with the surging need.

Now, we've officially moved into our new headquarters, and we're just weeks away from opening a new Free Food Market near the heart of the city. This was only possible thanks to the generous supporters who believe in our mission.

We’re excited to introduce Amber, Sunshine Division’s new Programs & Outreach Manager! ☀️

In her first month, Amber has already jumped into supporting families across our community, from helping distribute weekend food bags to students at Community Transitional School to working alongside our Portland Police Liaison to connect vulnerable youth with school clothes and other essential resources.

It’s been an exciting time to join the team. With the brand-new headquarters and warehouse now open, and a new Free Food Market on the way, the potential to grow our programs and serve even more families across the Portland area is truly energizing!”

Thank you to everyone who attended the 13th Annual SHINE Gala & Auction, presented by Fred Meyer. Over 200 supporters filled our new warehouse in NW Portland, helping raise critical funds to provide food assistance for families in our community.

A special thank you to our emcees Emily Burris and Travis Teich with KOIN 6, to our incredible auctioneer Christine DeCastro with Marquam Agency, and to our hardworking volunteers for helping make this our most impactful SHINE yet.

Since 1923, Sunshine Division has been feeding Portland families, and we’re grateful to be part of a community that continues to show up in such a meaningful way.
