The Oregonian recently reported that about 70,000 Oregonians have lost access to SNAP benefits over the past year.

For many families, this means having to choose between paying bills and putting food on the table. That's when families turn to local organizations like Sunshine Division for help.

A couple of Portland police officers stopped by our new headquarters this week to pick up food for a family in crisis. When they mentioned the family also had a dog, we made sure to send plenty of dog food.

We're grateful to partner with the Portland Police Bureau to help connect families with food and other essentials when they need them most.

This new location expands access to food assistance in our community while giving families the opportunity to choose the foods that best fit their needs in a welcoming, market-style setting.

Our new Free Food Market opens tomorrow near Slabtown!

We'll be open Tuesday through Saturday at 2121 NW Front Ave, providing free groceries to families and individuals who need them.

Today, our team stocked the freezer and put the finishing touches on the market as we prepare to welcome our very first guests.
