A group seeking to reinstate tax breaks favoring the rich and corporations couldn’t come up with enough signatures to place it on the Oregon ballot. Too bad, so sad!

As a result, legislation disconnecting Oregon from wasteful federal tax breaks is safe! This protects almost $300M in revenue for schools and other essential services

🌿 the education system that trains their workers
🌿 the health care system that keeps those workers healthy

🌽 More than 3,500 Oregonians who work at Walmart rely on the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) to feed themselves because their low wages don't cut it. Ironic!

🌽 As a huge corporation, Walmart got massive tax cuts from the Trump administration's Big Ugly Bill last year.

🌽 Per this article: “The 2025 bill also included new corporate tax subsidies, allowing businesses to deduct upfront from their taxes 100% of the costs of new equipment, real estate and research and development.”

🌽 Ironically, this was paid for in part by cuts to SNAP, the program many Walmart employees use to feed their families.

RAGE!

😠 $17.5 BILLION -- that's how much Amazon got in federal income tax subsidies last year!!

To be clear, this figure doesn't include the massive subsidies Amazon gets from states like Oregon for data centers.

Amazon received $17.5 billion in tax subsidies in 2025. That’s about 10% of all federal income tax subsidies for publicly traded corporations in 2025.
