Portland, it’s our turn to show up. 🌈

Right now, our community is being challenged to step up and raise critical funds—and 100% of every dollar we raise goes directly to powering equality work across the country through the Human Rights Campaign.

This isn’t abstract. This is real impact:

✨ Protecting LGBTQ+ rights at the ballot box
✨ Fighting harmful legislation
✨ Supporting our youth, families, and trans community members
✨ Building a future where equality isn’t debated—it’s guaranteed

We’ve always been a community that shows up loudly, proudly, and with purpose. Now’s the moment to prove it again.

💥 Give what you can
💥 Share this with your people
💥 Be part of the momentum

Every $25, every $100, and every act of generosity stacks into something powerful.

Together. 💙💛🌈

Representing Human Rights Campaign Portland in D.C. for the 2026 Equality in Action Volunteer Leadership Weekend & Awards Ceremony, where we’re focused on the midterms and the power of the equality vote.

Colton Malos (he/him) and Jace Wheatley (they/them) had the opportunity to meet with Jeff Merkley and his team to advocate for protecting LGBTQ+ rights and moving equality forward.

Because progress doesn’t happen by accident—we show up and make it happen.

Today is Trans Day of Visibility. 🏳️‍⚧️

We celebrate the beauty, resilience, and brilliance of trans and nonbinary people in our community. You are seen. You are valued. You belong—exactly as you are.

Visibility is powerful—but so is protection, advocacy, and love. Today and every day, we stand with you.

📚 Classrooms should be places of learning—not exclusion.

A bill in Kentucky is advancing that would label transgender people as mentally ill and ban trans educators from teaching.

Let’s be clear:
This isn’t about “protecting students.”
It’s about erasing people.

Trans teachers show up every day to educate, mentor, and create safer spaces for young people—especially those who need to see that they belong in this world. Removing them doesn’t protect students. It silences role models and narrows what’s possible.

We’ve seen this pattern before:
When fear writes policy, humanity gets edited out.
🏳️‍⚧️ Trans people are not a problem to be solved.
They are part of our communities, our classrooms, and our future.

Even if this isn’t happening in Oregon, it matters. Because what happens in one state echoes across the country.

💬 Speak up.
📢 Stay informed.
🤝 Stand with trans communities—everywhere.

📣 Portland Stands Strong for LGBTQIA2S+ Rights!

This week, the Declaration that the City of Portland will defend the rights of transgender people and all of the LGBTQIA2S+ community was introduced at City Council — a meaningful commitment to protecting LGBTQIA2S+ Portlanders and their families. 🌈

Here’s what it does:

✨ It affirms that Portland recognizes the worth and equal rights of all LGBTQIA2S+ people and wants everyone to feel safe, welcomed, and affirmed here.

✨ It clearly states the City will not use public resources to contribute to efforts that criminalize gender-affirming care that is legal in Oregon — no matter where someone comes from.

✨ It reaffirms Portland’s support for gender-affirming care, affirmation of LGBTQIA2S+ youth, and continuing state and local work for equity and justice.

This resolution reflects years of advocacy by LGBTQIA2S+ community members and allies, and comes at a time when LGBTQIA2S+ people are under increased threat in many parts of the country.

👏 Huge gratitude to the Portland councilors and community leaders who championed this resolution and showed that Portland continues to be a place where everyone — including trans, nonbinary, q***r, and Two-Spirit folks — is valued and protected.

Label: Resolution WHEREAS, the City of Portland recognizes the inherent worth and equal rights of all people, including transgender people and all LGBTQIA2S+ people, and seeks to provide a safe and welcoming environment for those who reside in, work in, or visit the City; andWHEREAS, thus far in the...
