Hand2Mouth is excited to announce our two newest company members, Natty Arroyave and Nurys Herrera! Natty joined us in February and Nurys joins us this fall. We are so thrilled to welcome these talented artists into our family and to have them work alongside us!
Natalia Arroyave Cárdenas holds a BFA in Performing Arts with a major in Dramatic Theater from El Bosque University. During university she worked as an academic tutor in the subjects of 'Semiology of Performing Arts' and 'History of Culture' at the Performing Arts Program in the Faculty of Creation and Communication. She also completed a 4 week workshop for ‘Acting Direction for cinema’ in Colombia, and she participated on the Civic Engagement and Leadership Academy from George Mason University in the U.S. Natalia was placed with internationally acclaimed theatre company Hand2Mouth in Portland, Oregon in 2023 as part of her Community Engagement Exchange Fellowship award, funded by the U.S. Department of State. During that time she was trained in the ‘Dialogue and Difference’ Curriculum and supported the development of Hand2Mouth’s International Program and the facilitation of Hand2Mouth’s Theater Summer Camps as a teacher in several Portland area public schools. Natalia worked as a Cultural Specialist and teaching artist during H2M’s International Program in the Dominican Republic, sponsored by the U.S. Embassy Santo Domingo; working with local performing artists and communities in DR. In 2023 Natalia co-created and performed in the original two-person theatre production ‘Y recuerda Tichangoshaina… An encounter of cultures’ with Zimbabwe theatre artist Lonesome Kudzaishe Tapiwa, during her Fellowship at Hand2Mouth. The show recently toured to the Cairo International Festival of Experimental Theatre, produced by the Egyptian Ministry of Culture. In February 2026, Natty joined Hand2Mouth as a company member. Nurys Herrera is a Peruvian bilingual actor, writer, and voice-over artist based in Portland, Oregon. She caught the acting bug at twelve and has been performing professionally in Portland since 1998. Nurys also spent several years with Portland Public Schools' Distance Learning Program, teaching Spanish to elementary students through ¡Hola, Hola!, where she got to create and play a whole cast of quirky characters. Beyond the stage, she has lent her voice to television commercials, corporate projects, and documentaries. In Portland, she has worked with Miracle Theatre, Triangle Productions!, Voz Alta, and Hand2Mouth Theatre. Nurys recently wrote and performed her first original solo show, System Check, as part of Hand2Mouth’s New2You Festival of New Works. She is currently developing more solo work and at the same time is excited to be part of Hand2Mouth, collaborating with artists who create bold, meaningful work that sparks conversation, builds community, and invites people to see the world—and each other—from new perspectives.
