Cincinnatus League

Cincinnatus League Our club is unique to Portland, Indiana, Jay County. We volunteer for families and elderly by working at the Mr. Meetings last approx. one hour.

Frostee ice cream booth at the Jay County Fairgrounds. We meet first and third Fridays for lunch and program.

The Hall of Fame Ceremony will take place on Wednesday, July 1st, 3 pm at the Jay County Fairground’s Farmer’s Building. This event is open to the public. Please plan to attend to help us honor these individuals for all of their Lifetime of Service to the Jay County Community. 🏆🏅🌟

Drew Houck is introducing Jane Ann Runyon, who has served a lifetime of community needs, including United Way, tailgating food food distribution, food pantries, disaster relief, fair harness racing, and being one of the founders of the Cincinnatus League. Cincinnatus has sponsored this event since 1993 with 203 honorees through 2025. Plagues are permanently displayed on the outside south wall of the Cincinnatus Frostee Booth year of induction. Bettie Jacobs, also known as the Rainbarrel lady or the Worm lady, has educated many children during her life of service dedicated to soil and water conservation, as well as recycling.

At the 2026 Jay County Fair, Cincinnatus League will once again honor individuals by inducting them into the Jay County Hall of Fame for a Lifetime of Service on July 1st! The emcee, Drew Houck, is presenting, Kathy Nelson, one of the lifetime honorees.
