What a wonderful Friday!

We weren’t sure if we would have enough volunteers this morning, but once again our Reach Out family came through. By delivery time, we had plenty of helping hands to pack, load, and deliver nearly 200 homemade meals to our neighbors throughout Port Townsend and the Tri-Area.

This week’s menu featured Cowboy Chicken, cornbread, garden salad, and fresh guacamole made from a generous donation of beautiful avocados.

The best part of every Friday is not just delivering food—it’s spending time with our neighbors, listening to their stories, sharing a few laughs, and reminding them that they are cared for and not forgotten.

🤠🌵 Thursday at the ROK Kitchen! 🌵🤠

Saddle up, folks — the chuckwagon crew was hard at work today getting ready for tomorrow’s meal delivery!

New volunteers and seasoned hands alike rolled up their sleeves and had a blast preparing:

🐔 Cowboy Chicken
🌽 Cornbread
🥗 Fresh Garden Salad
🥑 Fresh Homemade Guacamole

We were also blessed with a couple of cases of beautiful avocados, and Michael and Elijah worked overtime preparing a huge batch of fresh homemade guacamole to go along with the meal. What a wonderful treat for our neighbors!

After adding the requests that came in over the last week, we’re now up to 200 hot homemade meals headed out to our neighbors across Port Townsend and the Tri-Area.

From shredding chicken and mixing cornbread batter to preparing fresh ingredients, it was all hands on deck. We’re grateful for every volunteer who helps make this mission possible and for the community that continues to support Reach Out.

As they say out on the range, many hands make light work — and tomorrow, 200 neighbors will have a warm meal because of it.

Great day out there today! 🇮🇹🍝

We served nearly 200 Italian meals to our neighbors this week. There wasn’t much time for photos—our volunteers were busy rolling meatballs, simmering sauce, packing meals, and getting everything ready for delivery.

Michael stepped into the greenhouse early this morning and captured this beautiful image of morning dew clinging to a tomato plant. Sometimes it’s nice to pause and appreciate the little things growing around us while we work to care for our community.

Thank you to everyone who volunteered, donated, and supported Reach Out this week. Because of you, nearly 200 neighbors enjoyed a warm homemade meal today.

Mission accomplished!

Reach Out delivered 175 meals to our neighbors throughout our community on Friday.

One of the greatest blessings of this work is the opportunity to share our lives, hear the stories of others, and build meaningful connections along the way. Every week reminds us that kindness, compassion, and community make a difference.

The Reach Out family is grateful for one another and for the many wonderful people we have the privilege of meeting and serving.

Thursday is prep day at Reach Out Kitchen, and our volunteers were busy preparing this week’s meal: Fiesta Pork Casserole, Cheese Quesadillas, and Peanut Butter Cookies.

In addition to meal prep, we shared fresh homemade cinnamon rolls with attendees at the Peninsula Food Coalition meeting. The cinnamon rolls were a big hit and provided a sweet way to connect with others who are working to address food insecurity and support our community.

Every week, our volunteers give their time, talent, and heart to ensure that neighbors facing hardship and seniors in our community receive not only a meal, but also a reminder that they are cared for.

Thank you to everyone who makes this work possible. Together, we are building community one meal at a time.

Tomorrow’s delivery is locked, loaded, and ready to roll! ❤️

Menu:
*Chicken
*Roasted mashed carrots with brown sugar and butter
*Rice
*Chocolate strawberry filled cupcakes with buttercream frosting.

Our amazing volunteers spent the day whipping up meals, and we’re gearing up to deliver approximately 185 meals throughout Port Townsend and the Tri Area.

Beautiful day for a little cookin’ outside at the ROK☀️

The fried fish sandwiches came out yummy and the volunteers were busy putting it all together!

Thursday prep day was a breeze with our new 10 burner commercial range! We were able to cut our cook time by 50%!

The greenhouse is doing great too — lots of fresh herbs and strawberries coming in! 🍓🌿

Thomas is back this week making our famous bread pudding, and we know our neighbors are going to love it.
