What an amazing experience it was to gather at City Hall this past Monday. The excitement was palpable as families waited together outside, eager for the doors to open. When they finally did, everyone poured in cheering and smiling - such a special moment to be a part of!
It’s not every day you get to accompany your kindergartener or 1st grader to a City Hall meeting and watch them be recognized by the mayor for the work they’ve done in their community.
We feel incredibly proud to be part of a town that values collaboration, compassion, and community care. In a place made up of many different economic backgrounds, and during a time when so many families are navigating uncertainty, these students have shown what it means to come together and expand a network of pantries that will provide equitable access to food for everyone- for our neighbors, by our neighbors.
A heartfelt thank you to Mayor Amy Howard for recognizing this project and helping make this moment so memorable for these kids. This was truly a core memory for both big and small people alike- a moment that celebrated the value of ideas, teamwork, and love for community.
