Today, on the anniversary of poet and environmentalist W.S. MERWIN'S 99th birthday, we are proud to announce The Merwin Conservancy Books, a new imprint dedicated to literature of the environmental imagination.

Founded in partnership with fellow non-profit The Merwin Conservancy, this new initiative will ensure that MERWIN's essential environmental writings are preserved for future generations and that his deep environmental conscience lives on through new acts of environmental stewardship.

All royalties from the first collection of the imprint—THE WAY BACK: NATURE WRITINGS—will be donated to The Merwin Conservancy, sustaining the trees that MERWIN planted during his lifetime, as well as the creation of new poetry through the residency program founded in his honor.
