Together We Heal Clubhouse June Calendar is here!

Clubhouse is a welcoming, supportive space for survivors ages 18+ to connect, heal, and grow together. Each week, participants engage in meaningful tasks they choose at the center that help support other survivors, along with opportunities to build connection and community.

What to expect:
• A safe, supportive environment
• Choice-based meaningful tasks that support other survivors
• Workshops for personal and professional growth
• Group connection, creativity, and skill-building
• A space to show up exactly as you are

INVESTIGATION UPDATE: SECOND VICTIM COMES FORWARD, LEADING TO ADDITIONAL CHARGE AGAINST FORMER SCHOOL BUS DRIVER

The St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate allegations involving former school bus driver Edwin Garcia.

As previously reported, on March 4, 2026, a School Resource Deputy with the St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office received a report alleging that a St. Lucie County school bus driver had asked a 9-year-old student to lift her dress while she was riding the bus.

The School Resource Deputy immediately initiated a preliminary investigation. During the follow-up investigation, additional information was developed indicating the driver may have made inappropriate comments to the child and possibly pinched her over her clothing in the pelvic area.

The case was subsequently referred to the Criminal Investigations Division for further investigation.

As a result of that investigation, Garcia, 72, of Port St. Lucie, was arrested on March 6, 2026, and charged with two counts of Lewd and Lascivious Molestation of a Victim Under 12 Years of Age by an Offender 18 Years of Age or Older.

Following the original arrest, a second victim came forward, providing additional information to investigators. Based on information developed during the ongoing investigation, an arrest warrant was issued for Garcia on May 20, 2026, charging him with Battery. Garcia was subsequently arrested on May 28, 2026, on the additional charge.

This summer, we are helping teen girls RISE + ROAR.

Rise + Roar Summer Adventures is a FREE summer experience for teen girls ages 13–18 designed to build confidence, connection, resilience, and self-expression through meaningful activities, fun outings, and supportive peer connections that help teens discover their strength, find their voice, and create empowering memories in a safe and encouraging environment throughout the summer.

This program is intended to support teen girls who are survivors of sexual abuse and related trauma.

✔ FREE to participate
✔ Current intake through The Inner Truth Project required
✔ Registration required for each activity

Good times being out in the world today! Started the morning off with breakfast with St Lucie County Chamber of Commerce. It was great seeing our community friends. I ran into long time community gal pal Siobhan with Sexual Assault Assistance Program. Congrats to Officer Black for your well deserved award. See you all again soon!
