July 4th Prep Tips 🎇

Fireworks can be a major source of anxiety for dogs, but a little prep goes a long way. Here's how to help your dog stay calm, safe, and stress-free:

💥 Start Now with Sound Desensitization: Play firework sounds on your Alexa or phone at a low volume and gradually increase it each day. Pair the sounds with treats, cuddles, or playtime to create a positive association.

💊 Talk to Your Vet: If your dog has severe anxiety, consult your vet about safe calming medications or supplements. It's better to plan ahead than panic on the day of.

🏠 Create a Safe Space: Set up a cozy, quiet spot where your dog can retreat during the fireworks. Think blankets, favorite toys, and dim lighting.

🐕‍🦺 Always Leash Up: Even if your dog is usually fine off-leash, fireworks can cause sudden panic. Keep them leashed when outside, and double-check gates and doors.
