Every Mother's Advocate

Every Mother's Advocate We exist to prevent family separation by advocating for mothers in crisis. We imagine a world where every mother has an advocate.

Through relational, one-on-one advocacy, our work strengthens families, promotes stability, and helps keep parents and children together. In the United States, foster children are disproportionately removed from birth mothers who live below the federal poverty line. Every year, the number of children entering into foster care increases and the leading cause is poverty and unmet basic needs. It is

our vision to eradicate unjust causes for family separation, that no child is removed from their mother due to circumstances linked to poverty. Our programs are designed to holistically support and provide meaningful and intentional care to 1) moms at-risk of loosing children into the foster care system in an effort to safely prevent family separation and 2) moms with children currently in the foster care system in an effort to support a successful reunification. The ĒMA model is a wrap-around approach to a modern crisis that mobilizes communities to engage in ongoing, sustainable solutions. We imagine a world where every mother has equal opportunity to break generational cycles of poverty and where a community is responsive to her needs.

Everyone remembers the people who stayed. 🧡

The people who listened without rushing. The ones who showed up consistently, offered encouragement, and reminded us we didn't have to carry life's hardest moments alone.

For many mothers, having someone in their corner can make all the difference. Not because that person has all the answers, but because they offer something just as important: a trusted relationship, a listening ear, and the reassurance that no one should have to navigate difficult seasons by themselves.

At ĒMA, that's the heart of advocacy.

Family preservation is community work. ✨

This weekend, our team had the opportunity to join City Lift Church’s Women’s Workshop Collective and connect with women passionate about strengthening mothers, families, and the communities around them.

Partnerships like these are an important part of growing a movement for family preservation. They introduce more people to the challenges families are facing, create pathways to get involved, and help build communities where mothers have people in their corner before challenges become crises.

We’re grateful to City Lift Church for welcoming ĒMA and creating space for conversations like these. Here’s to more communities coming together to support mothers and families. 🤝

Progress often begins with the decision to keep showing up.

For Marisol, that has meant continuing to do the hard work, even when the road ahead felt uncertain. And while every step forward has been hers to take, she’s had an Advocate in her corner offering encouragement and a steady presence along the way.

Today, Marisol is seeing meaningful progress as she works toward the future she wants for herself and her children. Her story is still unfolding, and so is the impact of having someone consistently beside her through it.

Every strong community is built by people who choose to show up for others. Angie is one of those people.

As a Volunteer Advocate serving through our Indiana Affiliate Partner, Bravely Women's Health, Angie walks alongside mothers with compassion, encouragement, and a genuine desire to help every woman feel seen, valued, and cared for.

Her story is a reminder that advocacy isn't about having all the answers. It's about building trust, offering practical support, celebrating milestones, and being a consistent presence during life's most challenging seasons.

We're grateful for the heart Angie brings to this work and for the lasting impact she's making in the lives of mothers and families.

🤝 If you've ever wondered how you can make a difference in your own community, there's a place for you in this work. Learn more about becoming a Volunteer Advocate at ema.org/advocate.

When child care costs more than college, families are forced to make impossible decisions.

According to a new report from Child Care Aware® of America, the average annual cost of child care reached $13,184 in 2025. For single-parent households, that's about one-third of the median household income. The report also found that, across every region of the United States, center-based child care for two children now costs more than in-state public college tuition.

These aren't just numbers—they're the daily realities many families are navigating as they balance work, finances, and caring for their children.

Challenges like these don't happen in isolation. That's why we walk alongside mothers with trusted relationships, practical support, and connections to community resources that help families navigate difficult seasons and build greater stability.

🧡 Family preservation is a community effort. Whether you give, volunteer, or help spread the word, there's a place for you in this work. Learn how you can get involved at ema.org/get-involved.

Every child deserves a strong foundation—and every parent deserves support in building one.

An estimated one in four children in the United States is growing up without a father in the home. For many mothers, that can mean carrying the responsibilities of parenting with fewer financial resources, less practical needs, and limited opportunities to build long-term stability.

While father absence is only one of many factors that can place families at risk, it reminds us of an important truth: families thrive when they are surrounded by a strong community.

At ĒMA, we work alongside mothers by connecting them with practical resources, meaningful relationships, and local support that help them navigate difficult seasons with greater confidence.

🧡 Every act of generosity helps make that possible. Support a mother in crisis by making a gift today at ema.org/donate

We're better together. 🧡

Last night, moms and their children from our ĒMA Broward community gathered for an evening of painting, good food, laughter, and quality time together. It was a joy to watch families create colorful masterpieces, encourage one another, and make new memories along the way.

At ĒMA, we believe families were never meant to navigate life alone. They deserve community, trusted relationships, and people who will walk alongside them through every season. Gatherings like these are a reminder that sometimes the greatest support comes from simply being together.
