Some are surrendered by their owners due to difficult family situations. Others have been severely neglected or make their way to Milo’s by good Samaritans. Regardless of their past, all the animals that are taken under Milo’s care have one thing in common - a second chance at a great life! When Milo’s receives a new animal, he or she is immediately given a health screening. Any medical conditions discovered are treated. Each pet is then carefully matched with a family that has filled out an extensive adoption application. After a suitable match is found, the dog or cat is on its way to its new forever home and off to live the pampered life that every pet deserves. Our Mission Statement

Before you head out for some tricks and treats, Chai has a few important HOWL-O-WEEN SAFETY TIPS to keep your fur babies safe! 🐶

🍬 . Keep Candy Out of Reach! - Halloween treats are for humans, not pups! Chocolate and certain candies can be toxic to dogs.

👻 2. Keep Costumes Comfy! - Make sure your fur baby can move, breathe, and see comfortably. Cute is great, but comfort comes first!

🔦 3. Stay Visible After Dark! - Use reflective gear or LED lights to keep your pup safe during nighttime walks.

🏷️ 4. Check Those ID Tags! - Make sure your pet's ID tags and contact information are up to date in case they get spooked and run off!

💔🐾 TWO LITTLE LIVES NEED OUR PRAYERS! 🙏❤️

We just picked up two extremely sick puppies, Lulu and Mat from Miami-Dade Animal Services (MDAS), and they are heading straight to our emergency vet for urgent medical care. 🚨🐶

These precious babies are suffering from severe upper respiratory infections (URI), and their little bodies are fighting so hard. 💔 They deserve a chance to grow up, experience love, and live the happy lives every puppy deserves.

🙏 Please keep these two sweet souls in your prayers. We are doing everything we can to give them a fighting chance.

🐾🎉 10 ADOPTIONS, 10 HAPPY ENDINGS! 🎉🐾

What an AMAZING day at in Orlando this past Sunday! ❤️🐶

We are beyond excited to share that 10 lucky pups found their FOREVER HOMES! 🏡💕 Ten beautiful lives changed, ten families made complete, and countless happy tears!

We had an incredible time meeting so many wonderful people, connecting with new vendors, and building relationships within our animal-loving community!

A VERY SPECIAL THANK YOU goes out to our amazing fosters and volunteers who showed up and made this day possible! ❤️ Events like these take countless hours of preparation, coordination, travel, and hard work. We know how much time and dedication you put into saving these precious lives, and we couldn't do it without you!

It takes a village to save lives, and we have one incredible village! 🐾❤️

💔 HEARTBROKEN… OUR SWEET BENJAMIN AND RUSTY HAVE GAINED THEIR ANGEL WINGS. 🕊️

There are no words to describe the heartbreak we are feeling right now. In the last few days, we have had to say goodbye to two beautiful souls, our sweet Benjamin and Rusty, who fought battles no little puppy should ever have to face.

Both babies suffered from severe medical complications, including extensive seizures, spina bifida, and liver failure. Despite every hope, every prayer, and every wish that things could be different, their little bodies were simply fighting too much. 💔

This is the part of rescue that nobody sees in the happy adoption photos. The part that breaks you in ways you cannot explain. The part where you fall in love, fight with everything you have to save a life, and sometimes have to face the unbearable reality that love alone cannot heal everything.

We rescue because we believe every life matters. We fight because every baby deserves a chance. We love them knowing that sometimes their stories will end in heartbreak rather than a happily ever after.

And when that happens, we carry their loss with us.

Benjamin and Rusty, we are so sorry that we couldn't give you the long, beautiful lives you deserved. We wish we could have taken away your pain, given you more time, and watched you grow into the happy, carefree puppies you were meant to be.

But please know this: you were loved. You mattered. You were never just another medical case or another rescue dog. You were our babies.

Your lives may have been far too short, but you left paw prints on hearts that will never forget you. We hope you are running free now, with strong little bodies, no pain, no seizures, and nothing but sunshine, soft grass, and endless love. 🕊️🌈

To everyone who supports Milo's Dog Rescue, thank you for standing beside us through the heartbreaking moments, not just the happy ones. Rescue is beautiful, but it can also be devastating. Behind every life we save is a team of people who give their hearts, their time, and sometimes pieces of themselves to these animals.

Today, our hearts are shattered. Today, we grieve. Today, we remember two precious lives that deserved so much more time.

🐾❤️ CHAI UPDATE! ❤️🐾

Remember sweet Chai, the French Bulldog who came to us severely starved and too weak to walk? Look at her now! 🥹

Chai has gained 7 POUNDS in just 3 weeks! 🎉 She is doing fantastic, loves people and attention, and her favorite thing is giving her foster mom the sweetest hugs and kisses. And yes, this girl actually hugs like a little human! 🥰

But as we’ve gotten to know Chai, we’ve discovered something else… THIS GIRL IS THE BOSS! 😂👑

Chai is definitely an alpha female and wants to be the queen of her castle. Her ideal home would be one where she gets all the love and attention from her humans, or possibly a home with a very submissive canine sibling.

🏡 CHAI IS READY FOR A FOSTER-TO-ADOPT HOME! ❤️

She still has a few months of medical vetting ahead of her, but she can continue that journey with her future family.

📍 Her foster-to-adopt home must be in the Tampa area or Broward County, FL, as she will need to continue visiting our veterinary clinic.

🎂🎉 For my birthday this year, I’m asking for something a little different! 🐾❤️

Instead of birthday gifts, I would be so grateful if you would consider donating to my birthday fundraiser for Milo’s Dog Rescue of South Florida, Inc. 🐶❤️

For the past 15 years, rescue has been such a huge part of my life. Every day, we work to give dogs a second chance at life, whether they need medical care, a safe place to land, a loving foster home, or simply someone who believes they deserve better.

As a nonprofit, foster-based rescue, we rely on the generosity of people who care. The medical bills, food, supplies, and care these babies need add up quickly, but every single donation helps us continue doing what we love most — saving lives. 🐾

🐾💙 Meet Chewy! 💙🐾

Chewy is a 12-week-old kitten who was originally supposed to enter a TNR program. But when we met this sweet boy, we noticed something special — his front left paw has a deformity, and he has only three toes. 🐾

But does that slow Chewy down? Not one bit! 🥰 He plays, explores, and gets around just like any other kitten. His unique little paw is simply part of what makes him so special. ❤️

Chewy is neutered, vaccinated, and FIV/FeLV negative. He is still a little shy and skittish, but he has been making wonderful progress with his foster mom. He especially loves being fed and getting pets, and once he feels safe, his sweet personality really starts to shine. 🥹

Chewy just needs a family willing to give him patience, love, and a little time to come out of his shell. In return, you'll have one very special little companion. 🐱💙

🐾 STEWIE UPDATE! 🐾

So many of you have asked how our sweet Stewie is doing… and the answer is AMAZING! 🥹❤️

For those who may not know Stewie’s story, this sweet boy came to Milo’s Dog Rescue after being found lying on the side of the road with **three broken bones**. He had been adopted from Orange County Animal Services just one month earlier, but when the shelter tried to locate his adopters, they could not be found.

When we took Stewie in, he was only 12 pounds, and far too weak for surgery. We got him eating, stronger, and ready for the long road ahead.

Since then, Stewie has undergone THREE leg surgeries and countless hours of physical therapy. His incredible foster mom has dedicated so much time to helping him heal, and the transformation has been nothing short of amazing.

And look at this sweet boy now! 🥹🐾 Stewie is a healthy 45 pounds and thriving!** ❤️

He is running, playing, and enjoying life like the puppy he was always meant to be. After everything he has endured, Stewie is finally READY FOR HIS FOREVER HOME! 🏡💙

His story is a reminder of what love, dedication, medical care, and a village can do. We are so incredibly proud of this little fighter.

UPDATE: Denali has been ADOPTED

🐾 **Meet Denali!** 🐾

Denali is a 1.5-year-old Rat Terrier who came to our rescue with her six babies. She has been the sweetest mama and did an amazing job raising her little ones. ❤️

Now that her babies are grown and ready to find their forever homes, it’s Denali’s turn! 🥹💕

Denali is truly the sweetest girl! She is:
🐾 Fully potty trained
🐾 Fully crate trained
🐾 Great with dogs
🐾 Great with people of all ages
🐾 Loves sleeping with her foster mom ❤️

She can be a little shy when you first meet her, but she warms up very quickly and then you’ll see her sweet personality shine!

Denali is a true Rat Terrier, which means she LOVES chasing wildlife. 🐿️🦎😂 Because of this, her forever home must have a fully fenced yard where she can safely enjoy being a dog.

After being such a wonderful mama, Denali deserves a family of her own. ❤️
