Chick-fil-A's Cow Appreciation Day reminds us to smile. This year, it also reminds us to appreciate something even bigger—the people whose dedication helps nourish our communities every day.

As we continue celebrating the Year of the Spartan, we're honoring the Spartans whose work is deeply rooted in agriculture, animal science, research, and service.

Today, we honor the work of the MSU Dairy Cattle Teaching and Research Center, MSU Animal Science, and the Michigan State University College of Agriculture and Natural Resources, whose research, education, outreach, help strengthen farms, nourish communities, and prepare the next generation of agricultural leaders.

Whether in Michigan or here in South Florida, we're reminded that the strongest communities begin with strong roots.
