😄 Smile: 10/10 - has been stopping volunteers in their tracks since day one, shows absolutely no signs of stopping, fully committed to this quality indefinitely
🎾 Fetch enthusiasm: 10/10 - fully committed, completely contagious, will not be the one to call it
😂 Class Clown energy: 10/10 - formally elected by the 2026 Haven Superlatives, did not campaign for it, accepts the title with zero humility
🐶 Dog friendliness: 10/10 - open, enthusiastic, good with others, just needs a confident handler to keep things smooth
💥 Overall enthusiasm for life: 10/10 - he is almost one year old and the world is still the most exciting place he has ever been and he intends to keep treating it that way
🤝 Devotion to his person: 11/10 - 60 pounds of love looking for somewhere permanent to land. The scale did not go high enough.

Historians will study this. 🐾

America thinks about certain things constantly. Like, all the time. Without being asked. During walks. During fetch. During the lizard surveillance operations that she considers her most important daily responsibility.

🦎 The lizard from last Tuesday that got away - the speed, the audacity, the absolute nerve of it. She thinks about this every single day and she is not over it and she will never be over it.
🎾 That fetch session that went on for exactly the right amount of time - the throws, the catches, the running, the glory. She relives this regularly and with great fondness.
🛋️ Her person - specifically wherever they are right now and why she is not currently next to them. This is an ongoing concern that she addresses immediately every single time.
💪 The confident handler who is out there somewhere - steady, active, ready for a girl who gives everything she has to everything she does. She thinks about them a lot.
🏡 Her forever home - the walks, the fetch, the lizard patrol, the couch at the end of it all with her person right beside her. She thinks about this constantly and she is completely, entirely ready. 💚

She gives her whole heart to her person - every single day, without reservation, with full lizard surveillance included at no extra charge.

✅ Fact: Raven is food motivated, quick to learn, and channels her energy into absolutely everything she does - including being one of the most devoted snuggle buddies you will ever meet at the end of a long day. The energy is the point.

❌ Myth: Pit mixes are not good with other dogs.
✅ Fact: Raven has been a playgroup regular since day one. She shows up, she makes friends, she has a great time every single time. The data is clear and it is overwhelmingly positive.

❌ Myth: Most Athletic is just a fun superlative.
✅ Fact: Have you seen her chase a hose. The 2026 Haven Superlatives voters were simply being accurate and Raven accepts the title with full confidence.

❌ Myth: An active dog can’t also be a cuddle bug.
✅ Fact: Raven would like to formally dispute this with her entire personality. Adventures first. Couch after. Every single day. That is the whole package and she delivers it without fail. 💚

WE NEVER LEAVE A MOM BEHIND! ❤️

When we heard that Azalea’s mom was still out there and no other rescue could take her, we knew what we had to do. We said YES!

Did we have the space? Not really.
Did we have the funds? Not really.

Were we in a position to take on another dog, especially with Azalea’s mounting medical bills? Honestly, no. But how could we say no to a mom who needed us?

Over the past few weeks, Everglades Angels Dog Rescue has taken in so many dogs in desperate need of help. Our space is limited, our funds are stretched, and the medical bills keep coming. Yet, when a life is depending on us, we find a way.

Because every life matters, and moms deserve a chance, too.

🛋️ Snuggle commitment: 10/10 - deep, devoted, fully available, no reservations whatsoever

When Emily & Bella put their wish on paper, the Park family knew it was time. They found Rosalia - and from the looks of that adoption day photo, this girl already had everyone wrapped around her paw before they even made it out the door.

❌ Myth: Puppies require a lot of space.
✅ Fact: Portofino requires a lap, a warm spot, and someone willing to hold him like the precious cargo he clearly is. He has been demonstrating this since day one and the evidence is overwhelming.

❌ Myth: You have to adopt Portofino and Lombardi together.
✅ Fact: These two Piazza Pups can be adopted separately - which means there is a whole family out there whose entire heart belongs to just Portofino. He thinks about that family constantly and with great anticipation.

❌ Myth: Rescue puppies are unpredictable.
✅ Fact: Portofino is predictably sweet, predictably friendly, and predictably going to charm every single person he meets within approximately thirty seconds. The only unpredictable thing about him is the zoomies and honestly those are part of the appeal.

❌ Myth: There will always be another puppy.
✅ Fact: There is only one Portofino. He is right here. He is ready. And he would very much like his forever family to come find him now. 💚

Rex and Roy think about certain things constantly. Like, all the time. Without being asked. Together. Always together.

🛋️ The couch - specifically a couch big enough for two large dogs and the person who loves them. Roy has dimensions in mind. Rex is less particular but equally committed.
🏡 The yard from their foster home that one time - the space, the sunshine, the ability to just exist outside together without a care in the world. They think about this often and with great fondness.
🤝 The 17-year-old who saw them running down the road and didn't think twice - they think about this more than anyone knows. That kid changed everything.
😄 The moment Roy looks at Rex and Rex looks at Roy and they both just know - they have been doing this since day one and they intend to keep doing it forever
🏠 Their forever family - the yard, the couch, the person who comes home to both of them every single day. They think about this constantly and they are so ready. Two big boys. One home. Everything that comes next. 💚

They have already found their person. They found each other. Now they just need to find their home.

😄 Sweetness: 10/10 - genuine, consistent, and available to absolutely everyone he meets without exception
🌿 Curiosity: 10/10 - the hound in him means the world is one giant fascinating investigation and he takes this responsibility very seriously
⚡ Puppy energy: 10/10 - he is five months old and he is living every single second of it with full commitment and zero apology
🤝 Friendliness: 10/10 - immediate, enthusiastic, and completely genuine every single time
🏡 Readiness for a home: 10/10 - has spent his entire life in rescue, has never once had a yard to call his own, and is more ready than any puppy has a right to be
🐾 Overall potential: 10/10 - going to grow into approximately 30-40 pounds of devoted, loyal, endlessly curious companion and he already knows it

Dear Forever Family,

I have been thinking about you for a long time. Longer than I care to admit. 🤍

I am Sadie. I am a senior girl with a whole lot of personality and zero interest in slowing down - and I am writing this letter because I am ready. More ready than I have ever been.

Here is what I want you to know about me. I will initiate the frisbee sessions. I have a schedule and I take it seriously. I will walk beside you every single day on a route that is exactly the right length - I have the formula and I will share it with you when you are ready. I will find you wherever you are in the house and I will stay there. Not because I have to. Because you are my person and that is simply what I do. 🐾

I have heard people say that senior dogs are a harder adoption. I disagree. A senior dog knows exactly who she is. She knows what she needs. She shows up with her whole heart every single day without being asked. That is not harder. That is a gift. And I am very ready to give it to someone who is ready to receive it. 💚

I am back at the rescue now and I am not going to pretend that has been easy. But I know my person is out there. I have been patient. I will keep being patient.

Just please don't take too long.
