A big congratulations to all of the students graduating from CTEC this semester! 🎓 Last night, FLDC staff and CTEC instructors recognized these students for their achievements and hard work during a small ceremony surrounded by family and friends. We wish all the sucess in the future for our students and can’t wait to see what they’ll do next! 🥳

The first FairKids field trips of this year are in the books! Over the last two days, we welcomed over 8,000 guests to experience the LA County Fair. These field trips provide students with access to special educational programming and hands-on learning activities to create memories that will last a lifetime! It’s a full day of learning cleverly disguised as fun!

FairStars returns to the LA County Fair this year! Designed to create a welcoming environment for all, FairStars is an opportunity for guests with special needs to visit and enjoy the fun of the LA County Fair. Get early access to the fairgrounds before the general public and explore unique educational exhibits while making lasting memories! Pre-registration is required for admission.

Fairplex Learning and Development Center is excited to announce Ken O’Donnell as the newest member of the FLDC Board of Directors. Ken is currently the Provost and Vice President for Academic and Student Affairs at the University of La Verne, and has an extensive background in leadership roles within education focusing on student success, equity, and academic innovation. FLDC is honored to have Ken involved with the continued growth of the organization to further boost our mission of providing innovative educational opportunities to students in our local community.

In honor of CTE Month, we’re highlighting all the benefits and impact these programs are having on these local students!

At FLDC, we have five pathways as part of our Career and Technical Education Center: Automotive, Child Development, Green Energy, Urban Agriculture, and Welding. These programs are essential for preparing students for long-term career and higher education opportunities. Students receive hands-on training, career exploration, and essential skill development to help them succeed in today’s rapidly changing workforce.
