We are saddened to share the passing of Bob "Shoebob" Fisher, whose vision helped launch IOCP’s Sleep Out 31 years ago and inspired generations of community members to come together in support of neighbors experiencing housing instability and other financial hardships.

What began with Bob’s willingness to take action grew into a powerful community tradition and helped deepen our collective understanding of the challenges facing local families. His impact can still be felt in IOCP’s work today, as we continue helping families meet immediate needs while building toward greater stability year-round.

As we approach the season so closely associated with the Sleep Out tradition, we are especially grateful for Bob’s vision, compassion and lasting contribution to our community. We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family and all who knew and loved him.
