You have a good stretch. Shorter episodes, and you start to think maybe you were finally getting somewhere.

Then a hard week comes, and it feels like you're back at the beginning.

You're not! Setbacks are part of how growth actually works.

Katie says it well in this week's episode: "Even in those setbacks, God is still present and he is still at work." โ†—๏ธโ†—๏ธ

It's a common question we hear, and this week's episode gets practical about it. Learn what support actually looks like when things escalate in the moment. And a reminder from Katie: growth is rarely a smooth line...

When your child hits or bites, safety needs to come first. So does the response. ๐Ÿ’›

A simple, meaningful consequence can help your child connect their actions with their impact on others: โ€œYou need to take space from the group until you can make a plan to be safe again.โ€

This gives everyone the room to reset. It also invites your child to grow in responsibility, rather than simply feeling sent away. After things have settled, help them make a plan.

Here's a moment that can translate to parenting. Jesus knew His disciples had been arguing on the road about who was the greatest.

He knew.

And still, he didn't scold them in the heat of it. He waited. He sat down. He gathered them close. And then He taught them something far deeper than "stop fighting." ๐Ÿ’›

There's so much grace in that pause. Because not every hard moment with our kids needs to be addressed right away. Sometimes the most lasting lessons come later, in a calmer moment, when little hearts are actually ready to hear them.

When a child is struggling with persistent aggression, it can shake your confidence and leave you feeling powerless. If you are parenting a child whose big behaviors sometimes feel scary, you are not alone, and there is real hope.

In this 5-session course, Certified Parent Coaches Lydia Rex and Katie Wetsell walk alongside you through aggressive behaviors with grace, wisdom, and practical tools.

Drawing on the evidence-based tools within the Connected Families Frameworkโ„ข, Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRIยฎ), and Non-Violent Resistance, they help you move out of survival mode and into a place of confidence and support.

Letโ€™s talk real parenting for a second. ๐Ÿ’› When your childโ€™s big feelings arise and yours start rising too, what actually helps you find calm?

Maybe itโ€™s a deep breath before you respond, or stepping into another room for 30 seconds, or a quiet prayer or phrase you repeat to yourself. We want to hear from you! Share below ๐Ÿ‘‡

"[We spend so much time] as parents studying, watching, waiting for God to intervene in the struggles that may be going on with our kids. And just like the friends of the paralyzed man who brought him to Jesus, just like Jairus, who had faith on behalf of his daughter, we are being called to hang on to that faith, to watch for God at work in our children. To trust that he's going to rise in their lives with healing and freedom."

When your child is angry, itโ€™s easy to feel like you need to fix the behavior right away. But big feelings need connection before they can receive guidance. ๐Ÿ’› These three steps can help you respond with both grace and clarity.

Validating anger does not mean allowing hurtful behavior. It means showing your child that their feelings are safe to name, while you lovingly guide them toward respectful ways to respond. Your steady presence teaches a powerful message: โ€œYou are safe with me. I am here to help you.โ€ ๐ŸŒฑ

Has your child's aggression ever caught you completely off guard? A hit, a kick, or words that really stung, and you're left thinking, "๐‘พ๐’‰๐’‚๐’• ๐’Š๐’ ๐’•๐’‰๐’† ๐’˜๐’๐’“๐’๐’… ๐’Š๐’” ๐’ˆ๐’๐’Š๐’๐’ˆ ๐’๐’?" ๐Ÿ˜”

In this episode, host Chad Hayenga sits down with coaches Lydia Rex and Katie Wetsell to explore what's really happening beneath a child's aggressive behavior, and why the goal isn't to fix it magically, but to become the steady, faith-filled presence your child needs.
