🌱 Meet the inaugural cohort of the Catalyst Leadership Program! 🌱
We are so proud to introduce the 5 exceptional nonprofit leaders launching our very first cohort!

We kept meeting leaders who were hungry to grow — so we built a place for them.

Catalyst Leadership is a focused, 6-month experience built around exactly what nonprofit leaders tell us they need most: a trusted executive coach in their corner, a tight-knit peer community to learn and problem-solve with, and practical leadership tools they can put to work right away. 💡 This new program allows Gratitude Network to serve more leaders and provide them with an ecosystem to ensure they never walk alone in their work.

Over the next six months, this cohort will dig into the real challenges of nonprofit leadership — from empowering their teams to building sustainability and planning for what’s next — growing together every step of the way. 💫

🤝 Here’s something our Alumni Engagement Study revealed — and it’s too important not to talk about.
Nonprofit leaders are some of the most driven, mission-focused people on the planet. But even the best leaders can’t do it alone. Community isn’t a nice-to-have. It’s the fuel that keeps world-changers going.
So when we asked our Fellows what they need most post-Fellowship, the answer was loud and clear: connection.

📊 The numbers tell the story:
🔹 72% of alumni want peer networking
🔹 Only 14% feel current offerings are delivering it
🔹 65% explicitly ask for deeper, more meaningful connection

That gap between what leaders need and what exists? That’s not a problem — that’s an opportunity. 💡 And it’s exactly the kind of insight that pushes us to build something better, together.
Because when passionate leaders are connected to each other, ideas spread, burdens lighten, and impact multiplies. Alumni-led, community-driven engagement isn’t just the future — it’s what our Fellows deserve. 🌍

🌍 A Journey of Gratitude: Some leaders follow a path. Others create one.💡

Meet Ajit Sivaram, Co‑Founder of U&I and a 2020 Gratitude Network Fellow. 🌟

Growing up in Bangalore, Ajit Sivaram watched nearly everyone around him pursue careers in tech. But he felt pulled toward something different — something rooted in people, not code.

That choice became U&I, a movement powered by 5,000 volunteers who show up for 5,000 children across India. Children who need support, stability, and someone who believes in their potential.

Ajit’s journey didn’t begin with a grand plan. It began with a moment — a conversation with his father that gave him permission to chase purpose with his whole heart:

“If you want to do this, we’ll support you 100%. But stick with it.”

And he has. Year after year. Child after child. Story after story.

His leadership reminds us that impact doesn’t start with scale — it starts with a decision to serve.

We’re honored to have been selected as one of six Impact Grant Partners in the IFN 2026 Impact Study — a global research initiative examining how fellowship programs help leaders create change at every level of society. 💙

This year-long study brought together 23 fellowship organizations and engaged 1,630 alumni and partners across 141 countries to better understand how leadership development, peer learning, and community support drive long-term impact.

As part of this work, Gratitude Network helped contribute research and insights on how alumni engagement strengthens nonprofit leaders and accelerates sustainable social impact around the world. 🌍

We’re proud to see the work of our Fellows, alumni, and global community recognized on an international stage — and even more excited about what this means for the future of impact fellowships and mission-driven leadership.

And the findings are clear: supporting leadership development matters.
The study shows that leadership development helps leaders overcome barriers like confidence gaps, lack of support, and limited networks — and equips them with essential skills such as communication (63%), leadership (48%), and career development (46%). These are the capabilities that enable leaders to grow their organizations, strengthen communities, and drive lasting systems change.

🌟 Reflections from the Impact Fellowship Summit

Last month, our Director of Programs, Morgan Banaszek, joined fellow Fellowship leaders in Washington, DC for the Impact Fellowship Summit, hosted by the Impact Fellowship Network!

Morgan shared a few takeaways from her time in the room:
✨ “It was brilliant to be among others so dedicated to running exceptional Fellowship programs. IFN has cultivated a community willing to dig into the hard questions — the ones those of us in this work are all asking.”

🌱 A clear theme emerged: the need for collaboration to bring leadership development programming for social impact leaders into the spotlight.

🤝 Morgan led a session on strengthening Fellowship programming by involving team members — exploring how we move beyond developing one leader to embedding Fellowship knowledge across an entire institution. Participants shared experiences, raised tough questions, and offered practical suggestions for designing more team-inclusive programs.

💡 One idea that surfaced and stuck with her: the importance of measuring relationship density within Fellowship programs as a meaningful indicator of impact.

🎁 The biggest gift? A group genuinely willing to share tactics, processes, and practical insights with one another. That kind of openness is what builds a stronger Fellowship ecosystem — one where we all rise together.

Grateful to IFN, IREX, WK Kellogg Foundation for bringing us together and for conversations with many thought partners sharing this space alongside us!
