Alan Hu Foundation Launches a NEW WEBSITE DESIGN. alanhufoundation.org

Dear Friends,
We have grown, you have grown. And in response, our Board of Directors is excited to announce a fresh new format for the Alan Hu Foundation website to highlight our programs and resources. We have recorded and organized 31 Mental Health Lectures into easy-to-navigate subjects. We have streamlined the application form for the Alan Hu Foundation Scholarship program. Mental health information is growing, and we hope you will utilize the website to support your mental health goals and to help raise awareness and remove the stigma surrounding psychiatric disorders.

The new website is organized into user-friendly tabs, with additional drop-down menus:

HOME - Our mission and goals, About Us, and Alan’s Story are featured.

LECTURE SERIES - We have hosted 31 Mental Health Lectures via Zoom so far, featuring renowned mental health experts. We offer live English and Chinese interpretation during webinars; stay tuned for Spanish interpretation in the future. Signing up for current lectures is a click away, and finding video recordings of previous lectures is easier.

SCHOLARSHIP - Information about the Alan Hu Foundation Scholarship, a new and improved online application form, and photos and listings of current and previous Scholarship Recipients are available.

CONCERTS - Alan was a talented cellist, so each Spring, a Benefit Concert is a fitting tribute to his memory, and a way to support promising scholars who apply for the Alan Hu Foundation Scholarship. We awarded one Alan Hu Foundation Scholarship in 2021, and thanks to our concert audiences of generous donors, we have funded a total of 57 scholarships to date.

RESOURCES - A list of mental health Resources, and links to current news, Awards, and Grants, is available.

CONTACT - Visitors can stay in touch.

We are grateful for the generous support of Three Valleys Community Foundation, who made this project possible.

On May 21st, we were honored to be recognized as Assembly District 16's 2025 Nonprofit of the Year at the California Nonprofits Day celebration at the State Capitol.

Assemblymember Rebecca Bauer-Kahan is an avid advocate and champion for mental health, and has spearheaded many initiatives in promoting mental health and removing stigma. This recognition reflects the Assemblymember’s support for all the mental health nonprofits that are working tirelessly to create a better future for people who face mental health challenges.

This remarkable recognition fuels our work. And we gratefully pass along the honor to our numerous volunteers and supporters, generous donors and grantors (Three Valleys Community Foundation, Tri-Valley NonProfit Alliance, and City of Pleasanton Community Grant Program Youth), amazing partner Mental Health Association for Chinese Communities, and incredible fellow mental health nonprofits(NAMI Tri-Valley, NAMI Alameda County, Z-Cares Foundation, Beingwell CA, A Brighter Day, to name a few). Together, we are creating a mental health safety net for our community.
