Here’s wishing every single dad out there a happy Father’s Day on Sunday. How will you celebrate your father? You should bring him to Plainview Adult Activity Center for lunch next week.

I happen to know exactly what every dad wants for his special day — a meal ticket, of course! The center offers a $60 meal ticket for 10 meals with the 11th meal free. What a great gift idea!

Get more bang for your buck at the center with a home-style meal, Monday and Wednesday, from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. for only $6.

The meal, by the way, is not just for old folks. Anyone who can come up with $6 can eat at the center.

Wanted: A few good men (and women) to come and play dominos. If you are 50 or older, and staying home is not in the cards for you, come join the brain-exploding fun with our domino gang each Wednesday from 12:30-4 p.m.

We are also seeking party bridge players. Phone me for more information.

We will be closed Monday, June 22, in observance of the Juneteenth federal holiday.

Do you sit at home on weekdays, bored, watching television, practicing becoming a professional couch potato? If so, get up, get out of your home and come to Plainview Adult Activity Center.

I know how you can avoid death by boredom: participate in an activity or two with us! If you are hunting a big, fun time (I know I always am), the center should definitely be on your bucket list.

42 domino players meet every first and third Monday of each month, from 1-4 p.m.

Regular domino players meet every Wednesday, from 12:30-4 p.m.

Party bride players play every second and fourth Friday of each month, from 1-4 p.m.

I sure am looking forward to a nice, long Memorial Day weekend of rest, relaxation, and anything else I can think of that starts with the letter "R." Most importantly, though, the holiday is intended to remember the sacrifices of U.S. service men and women.

We will be closed on Monday, May 25, in observance of Memorial Day.

Make plans to join the Domino gang. They play each Wednesday from 12:30-4 p.m., so pencil us in. You will not be disappointed.
