Unused and expired medications can lead to misuse, accidental poisoning, and environmental harm. Help us keep our community safe by disposing of them properly.
📅 Saturday, April 25
⏰ 10 AM – 2 PM
📍 Wayland Baptist University (Harral Circle Drive – 7th & Utica)
✔️ Pills, capsules, tablets, patches & sealed liquids
🚫 No needles/sharps unless in a red biohazard container
🚗 Drive-through — stay in your car
Local law enforcement and community volunteers will be on site to ensure safe and secure collection.

For all our partners in the Abilene area this is a great event to attend!

Join us for our Rural Health Leadership & Workforce Readiness Summit! All nurses, doctors, students, and other health professionals are encouraged to attend this FREE summit.

We will also have an opportunity for high school students to learn more about professional skills and telemedical health at the High School Telemedicine & Career Readiness Experience portion of the summit. This high school opportunity will take place from 2:00-4:00 PM on March 20th and allow students to take part in Health Match Recruitment & Job Fair to meet possible future employers and learn more about our regions health care providers.

The weather tried to slow us down, but our mission kept us moving!

AHEC of the Plains is out along with DSHS Public Health Region 1 providing immunization training and updates because supporting our healthcare workforce and protecting our communities always comes first.
We’re grateful for the dedication of those who braved the elements today to learn, grow, and serve.

7-hydroxmitragynin (7-OH) is a chemical in kratom that acts like an opioid.

At high levels, it can cause serious health problems.

DSHS recommends avoiding products that contain 7-OH.
